Johnson 05/05/38 - 04/02/08 Funeral services for Rev. James W. Johnson will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2008 in Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Cravens with Reverend Arlen Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Drakes Fork Cemetery, Cravens under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Rev. James W. Johnson went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2008 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on May 5, 1938 to Irving and Jewel Johnson. He was a native of Cravens, Louisiana. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Faye Potter Johnson. He is the loving father of five children, Anthony and Gayle Johnson of Pitkin; Michael Johnson of DeRidder; Janet Johnson-Sweat and Randy Sweat of Tioga; Johnny and Paula Johnson of Rosepine; Joanne and Dewayne Doyal of Pitkin. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Nola Pelt of Pitkin, Mrs. Ila Davis of Hineston, Mrs. Viola Padgett of Hineston, and Mrs. Adra Roginson of Hineston. He is survived by three brothers; Mr. Marvin Johnson of California, Mr. Travis Johnson of Pitkin, and Mr. Wallace Johnson of Pitkin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Jewel Johnson and a brother, Parvin Johnson, all of Pitkin. Mr. Johnson served four years in the Air Force and retired from Federal Civil Service as a Firefighter at Fort Polk. He was the prior pastor of Occupy #1 Baptist Church for nineteen years.
