Olive Baptist Church. Burial will be in Blue Branch Cemetery under direction of Hixson, DeRidder. Johnson, 72, of Pitkin died Thursday, July 1, 1999, in his residence. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a truck driver for McDonald Truck Lines in Glenmora and a member of Freedom Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ida Baudoin Johnson of Pitkin; nine sons, Vernon Ray Frederick of Baton Rouge, Charles Ray Johnson, Aaron James Johnson and Keith Stafford, all of Pitkin, David "Chris" Johnson of Ball, Raymond Dale Johnson of Opelousas, Claiborne James Johnson of Mississippi, Johnny Lee Stafford of Magnolia, Texas, and Joseph Patrick Stafford of Glenmora; seven daughters, Arlene Andre of New Iberia, Wanda Sharpe and Corita Mae Willis, both of Glenmora, Edwina "Wendy" Landen, Vernell "Missy" Williams and Bobbie Jane Maricle, all of Pitkin, and Darlene Strother of Oakdale; five sisters, Audrey Droddy and Jewel "Bob" Doyle, both of Pitkin, Norma D. Martin and Earlene Seals, both of Houma, and Christine Wright of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Loyd Johnson of Glenmora, Wallace Johnson of Basile and Edward Johnson of Pitkin; 35 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. today and from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until time of services in the church.
