Van Johnson
Funeral services for Mr. Van Johnson, 71, of Pitkin will be held at
10 a.m. today, July 15, 2003 in the Grvel Hill Baptist Church with 
the Rev. Jeff James and Hardy Estes officiating. Burial will follow
in the Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of the White Oaks 
Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from until time of service 
today in the church. Mr. Johnson died Sunday, July 13, 2003 in the
Oakdale Community Hospital. He was born in Cravens and a lifelong 
resident of Pitkin. He was a retired oil field worker. Survivors
include his wife, Lavonne Eaves Johnson of Pitkin; two sons, Charlie
Van Johnson of Pitkin and Ricky Dale Johnson of Dodson; one daughter,
Rebecca Louise Johnson Coker of Pitkin; one sister, Janelle Mackie
Ramiez of Port Arthur, Texas; six grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren.
