Verna C. Merritt 
Our dear Mother entered into a peaceful rest in her home in Hornbeck as 
she was having her hair done mid-morning Saturday August 20, 2005. She 
was 92 years old and was born April 1. 1913 in Bronson, Texas. Funeral 
Services will be at Grace Assembly Church in Hornbeck at 2p.m. Thursday 
August 25, 2005. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bronson, 
Texas next to her late husband Cicero Caswell Merritt. She is survived 
by four children, Mary M. Merritt Talbott, Nelson H. Merritt, Caswell 
H. Merritt, and H. Paul Merritt; 5 sisters, Edna Morris, Neva McComic, 
Sybil Cochran, LaMoyne Greer, Ruth Manuel, and Alice Drew; two 
Brothers, T.H. Cochran and Herbert Cochran, and Sharon Merritt who she 
helped raise.
