Mooney was born in Choctaw County, Alabama, July 2, 1845, moved to Vernon [w/b Rapides] Parish, Louisiana in 1860, married Thomas F. Crawford October 13, 1862, moved to Vernon Parish in 1867, joined Baptist Church at Walnut Hill 1882, lived a coincidence member until death. Died in the residence of G. W. Ingalls August 26, 1915, age 70 years 1 month, 24 days. Her married life was 52 years, 10 months, 11 days, leaves a host of friends.” [reported in the November 3, 1916 session in the LA Baptist Association Meeting Records for Vernon Parish LA. McManus] Notes: Mary Mooney married to a schoolteacher, Thomas “F” Crawford and they had 3 daughters. Thomas was born 16 Dec 1838 MS and died 6 June 1924 LA. Mary Mooney Crawford is buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Leander LA. The issue: Frances Elizabeth Crawford who married Charles Lewis; Mary Crawford who married Jacob Lewis; and Sarah Catherine Crawford who married George Washington Ingalls.
