Mrs. Bertha Pollard Powell 
Pitkin: Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Pollard Powell, 89, of Many will 
be at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 10 in Mount Olive Baptist Church. The Revs Newton 
McCullough and Travis McCullough will officiate. Burial will be in Blue Branch 
Cemetery inder direction of Rush Funeral Home of Oakdale. Visitation will be 
from 10:00 am Sunday at the church. Mrs. Powell died at 8:37 am Friday 
March 8, 1996 in a Many hospital. She had lived in Pitkin for 79 years and 
was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, 
Mrs Travis (Wanda Welch) McCullough of Many; one sister, Myrtle Duffell of 
Pitkin; five grandchldren; 14 great grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; 
and three great-great-grandchildren.
