All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************** Velma "Sue" Prudhomme Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005 at 2 p.m. in Trinity Baptist Church in Oakdale for Velma Prudhomme, age 52, the former Velma Sue Bloodsworth, who passed away Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 9:20 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery in Cravins, La. The Rev. Tony Robinson, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, will officiate at the services. Mrs. Sue was a native of Pitkin, La., and a resident of Carencro for the past 28 years. She was a caregiver for many years. She was a very loving and caring person and always went beyond the call of duty as a caregiver. Mrs. Sue enjoyed camping and especially fishing. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Oakdale. Survivors include her husband, Eli Prudhomme Jr. of Carencro; one daughter, Tonya Renee Prudhomme Credeur and husband Charles Zachoria Credeur of Scott; three sons, John David Odom and wife Wilma Joy of Oakdale, Arron Thomas Prudhomme of Carencro and Randall Kyle Prudhomme of Cankton; two stepsons, Donald Prudhomme and wife Dorothy Jane of Cankton and David Prudhomme and wife Sharon of Lancaster, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers Jimmy Bloodsworth and wife Sue of Austin, Texas, and Darrell Bloodsworth of Oakdale, La.; and five sisters, Nevelen Cole of Glenmora, La., Judy Perkins, Maurice Wiggins and her husband L.W. and Helen Marie Shreman, all of Oakdale, and Daurice Willis and her husband Larry "Blackfoot" of Oberlin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zeno Bloodsworth and the former Thelma Willis; her grandparents, William Willis and Laura James Willis; and two brothers, James Bloodsworth and Bobby Bloodsworth. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Tuesday at Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro and will continue at Trinity Baptist Church in Oakdale on Wednesday.
