Arlen Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of White Oaks, Oakdale. Shaffett, 76, of Pitkin, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Pitkin. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW of Leesville and a member of Marlow Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Shaffett. Survivors include two sons, Dewayne Shaffett and Wilmer Shaffett, both of Pitkin; one daughter, Bonnie Johnson of Pitkin; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Bob Saunders, Glen Johnson, Craig Fontenot, Derek Saunders, Dale McMullen, Ronnie Young and Lee L. Strother. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services today in the church
