He was a native of Slagle and employed as the county agent for LSU Co-op Ext. Service until his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal and the UN Service Medal. He was a member of Simpson Baptist Church. He was a 50-year member of the Shriners and attended Full Gospel Church in Leesville. McKee ROSEPINE - Services for Benard Dalton McKee will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, in Rosepine United Pentecostal Church, with the Revs. Charles Best, Dennis Bjornberg and Gary Bankson officiating, Burial will be in Rosepine Cemetery under direction of Beauregard-Vernon, DeRidder. McKee, 70, of Rosepine, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital, DeRidder. He was a life long resident of Rosepine. He served for 31 years as Vernon Parish School Board member for Ward 7 and served as vice-president for 2 years and president for one. He also served on every policy making committee during his years of service. He was owner/operator of McKee Family Grocery in Rosepine for 50 years and was a member of Rosepine United Pentecostal Church. Survivors include his wife, Gaye W. McKee of Rosepine; one son, Dalton B. McKee of Rosepine; two brothers, Odom M. McKee of Rosepine and Glenon G. McKee of Rosepine; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
