She is survived by five sons, John Walters of Simpson, Charles, Lee and Simon Walters of Calcasieu, and Willie Walters of Pitkin; four daughters, Mrs. Bess Edwards of Zimmerman, Mrs. Alice Edwards of Calcasieu, Mrs. Maggie Johnson of Glenmora, and Mrs. Lillie Jackson of Simpson; three sisters, Mrs. B. Richie, Mrs. Margaret Boswell, and Mrs. G. Boswell, all of Simpson, 38 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 1950 in the Pen Ile Baptist Church near Melder. Interment will be in the Melder cemetery under the direction of Hixson Bros. Funeral Home. [Note: Mariah Lewis Walters was born 15 Sep 1863 GA, daughter of Allen Lewis and Margaret Nessmith. She married in 1881 to Floyd Walters, son of William Walters and Elizabeth Smith.]
