Walton, 72 of 6404 Southern Ave., died Thursday (November 11, 1976) at 11:45 a.m. in Physicians and Surgeons Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Vernon Parish and had lived in Shreveport since 1921. Mrs. Walton was a retired 30-year employee of South Central Bell Telephone Co. and a member of Oakmont Church of God, Telephone Pioneers, Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Confederacy. The funeral will be Saturday (November 13) at 11 a.m. in Wellman's Funeral Home. The Rev. W.D. Franks, pastor of Oakmont Church of God, and the Rev. Larry Smith, pastor of Sunset Church of God, will officiate. Burial will be in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Albert G. Walton, Sr.; a son, Albert G. Walton, Jr. of Shreveport; a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Hall of Shreveport; three brothers, C.C. Carver and H.L. Carver, both of Shreveport, and E.I. Carver of Houston, Tex.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be R.J. Lemoine, Hobart C. Meshell, Larry Meshall, David Radford, Curtis Blackwell and Frank Davis.
