DR. W.E. REID SUCCUMBS AT 76
Dr. William E. Reid, 76, of DeRidder, died Friday in a 
DeRidder hospital. He was a superintendent of the Huey
P. Long Hospital in Pineville under the administration
of late Gov. Earl K. Long. He practiced medicine in
Beauregard and Vernon Parishes for many years.

He is survived by a son W. Elmer Reid of Jackson, Miss.;
a daughter, Mrs. Cala Newsom of New Orleans; a sister,
Mrs. Maggie Carroll of Baton Rouge; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at John 
Kramer and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fellowship 
cemetery at Hineston.
