Funeral services for Evelyn Willis White, 69, of Pitkin will be Friday,
July 19, at 10 a.m. in Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Cravens with Rev. 
Arlen Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Gravel Hill Cemetery 
under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder. White died 
Wednesday, July 17, at 5:30 a.m. in her residence in Pitkin. She was a 
native of Elizabeth, and had lived all of her life in the area. She was 
a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church and was a retiree from Fort Polk 
as a PX manager at the Army-Air Force Exchange Center. Survivors 
include one daughter, Beverly James Martin of Heidelberg, Germany; 
three sons, Gregory Jason White of Pitkin, Rodney Blane Theriot of 
Dothan, Alabama, and George Christopher White of Pitkin; two brothers, 
Murril Willis of Elizabeth and Bernice "Will" Willis of Lake Havasu 
City, Arizona; her mother, Edna Willis of Pitkin. She had eight 
grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 8 
a.m. Thursday, July 18, at the Gravel Hill Baptist Church.
