Ed Davis and Miss Cretia Coleman Marriage Bond and Verbal Process of Marriage
State of Louisiana
Parish of Vernon
Know all men by these present that we Edmond Davis as principal and Jim Davis
as security are held firmly bound unto Murphy J Foster Governor of Louisiana 
and unto his successors in office in the just and full sum of Five hundred
Dollars for the payment whereof well and truly to be made we hereby bind
ourselves and each of us by these presents Dated and signed at Leesville
Louisiana this 23rd day of Nov. 1899.

The conditions of the above and foregoing obligations are such that whereas
the above principal has this day obtained from the clerk of the Dist Court
a special License to contract marriage with Miss Cretia Coleman Now should
the exist no legal impediment to such marriage then this bond to be null
and void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in Law.

Be it remembered that by virtue of a license issued by the Clerk of the 
Dist Court for Vernon Parish Louisiana I have celebrated marriage between
Mr. Edmond Davis and Miss Cretia Coleman and have joined them together
in holy wedlock according to Law unto this 28th day of Nov. A.D. 1899.
