Marriage Bond and Certificate

Parish of Vernon} 
Know all men by these present that we Z.D. McCollough as principal, and P.L. Lacaze 
as security are held firmly bound unto M.J. Foster, Gov. of Louisiana and unto his 
successors in office in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars for the payment of which 
well and truly to be made, we hereby bind ourselves, our heirs and assigns firmly
by these presents.

The conditions of the above obligation are such that whereas, the above principal 
has this day obtained from the Clerk of Court a License to contract marriage with
Miss Marteely Deason.

Now should there exists no legal impediment to said marriage, then this bond to
be null and void or else of full force and effect in law.

This is to certify that in obedience to a Marriage License issued by the District
Court of said Parish and to me directed, I did on the 7th day of Jan. 1897, join
together in the Holy Bonds of Matrimony, Mr. Z.D. McCollough and Miss Marteely 
Deason at the Brides residence in the presence of the following witnesses.
