Marriage Bond
State of Louisiana 
Parish of Vernon

Know all men by these presents:
That we, John White as principal, and A.M. Phillips as security, are 
held and firmly Bound unto Murphy J. Foster Governor of the State of Louisiana, and 
unto his Successors in office, in the sum of five hundred dollars, for the 
payment of which Well and truly to be made, we hereby bind ourselves, heirs and assigns, 
firmly by  These presents.
    Dated and signed at Leesville, Louisiana, on this 14 day of April 
1900.
    The conditions of the above and foregoing obligation are such that 
whereas The above principal  has this day obtained from the Clerk of the 
District Court a Special license to contract marriage with Miss Eliza Bailey.
   Now, should there exist  no legal impediment to said marriage, then 
this bond To be null and void, otherwise of full force and effect of the law.

Be it Remembered, That by virtue of a license issued by the Clerk of 
the District Court of Vernon Parish, Louisiana, 
I have celebrated marriage between Mr. John White Jr. and Miss Eliza 
Bailey and have joined them together in Holy Wedlock according to law, 
this, the 19 day of April AD 1900.
