NO. 1007 PETITION AND JUDGMENT. TO THE HONORABLE, THE JUDGE OF THE 11TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT OF LOUISIANA IN AND FOR THE PARISH OF VERNON. That the petition of W.J. Langton, Robert Langton, Asa Langton, A. W. Langton, Ellen West, Miley Morrison, Nancy Cryer, Emeline Addison, and Mary Ann Moore, are the sole and only heirs of William Langton, deceased, residents of the Parish of Vernon, Louisiana, with respect, represents: 1. That on Oct 1879, William Langton, died in your Parish of Vernon, his last place of residence, leaving at his death, your petitioners as his sole surviving children and heirs, 2. That the said William Langton, left at his death, the following described property, to-wit: NW 1/4 of NW 1/4, Section 26. All in Tp.3, N. R. 11. West. 3. That this is all the property belonging to the said decendents, save a small amount of movable property of inconsequential value. 4. That your petitioners inherit said estate in equal portions and are entitled to take the same without the payment of any inheritance tax whatever. 5. That they hereto annex the written asset of the Tax Collector of the Parish of Vernon, Louisiana, declining to traverse the truth of the statement her in set out. WHEREFORE, they pray that they be recognized as the sole children and heirs of the said William Langton, as such be sent in possession of their estate, free from the payment of any inheritance tax whatever, and for such orders and decrees necessary and for general relief.
