Fortinberry - Was a daughter of Bro. Jackson Brumfield, born Mar 2, 1856, near Franklinton, Washington Parish, LA. She was married Dec 5, 1878 to Bro. Benjamin C. Fortinberry, after which she moved to Pike Co., MS… where she lived until her death July 26, 1882. She united with Mt. Hermon Church, Cot…. 1879, received and baptized by Eld. W. J. Fortinberry. Funeral sermon was preached by Bro. Willis J. Fortinberry. She leaves husband and 2 children , a father , mother, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters. MT HERMON Jacob M. Ott…. Was born Aug 28, 1821, near where Amite City, LA… now is; lived there with his parents till he was eleven years old, after which they moved to Silver Creek where he remained until his death. At the Union Schoolhouse he was received and baptized in the year 1857. He then united with Mt. Zion Church, Pike Co., MS, on a certificate of Baptism from Bro. Jesse Crawford, where he remained till the constitution of Mt. Hermon Church in 1863 of which he died a honored member. He was married to Miss Nancy C. Simmons, Nov 30, 1854. He died July 20, 1881. He leaves a wife, daughter, and son. His funeral sermon was preached by Eld. C. Felder Crawford. MT HERMON *********************************************************
