Thomas and William Bickham Of St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana Pages 746 - 747. James Corkern (43833), Washington Parish, La. March 16,1855; Mrs. Perba Corkern, widow of soldier said she was age 67, was married to James B. Corkern in Miss. Teritory, May 12, 1808 by a Tarver, Minister, and her maiden name was Phereba (Pherba) Magee, that soldier died April 11, 1838. Edwin Fussell and Andrew Toney said they were in service with James Corkern. Ann Magee Mizell, wife of David Mizell (Sr.) said she was age 65 and had known Pherba Magee all her life, "they being sisters," and their maiden names were Magee; also that Phereba and James B. Corkern were married in Amite County, Miss. Territory, May 12, 1808, and had lived together and had borne and raised a large family of children. Joel Ott certified. She is the mother of all the Talley decendants in Washington and St. Tammany Parishes, LA.
