(Caldwell) Bickham of Clifton died Monday morning whie driving his car to Bogalusa and was stricken with a heart attack. Funeral services were held Tuesday and burial was made in Clifton cemetery. -- Irma Bickham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Bickham of Van Vleck, Tx. married Lee Rugely this week. Miss Bickham has many relatives in this parish. -- January 18th, Mr. Isaac Miley, 62 years old, died at his home near Varnado. He leaves a wife, 7 children, 36 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Interment was made Tuesday in the Jarrell cemetery. -- 01-28-1926 Amite, January 20th, funeral services for Judge Steven Dudley Ellis, 81 years old. He was buried beside his brothers, Congress- man E. John Ellis and Judge T.C. Ellis. He was born in East Feliciana Parish. Survivors are: a sister, Mrs. John A. Cohen is survived by his parents, a widow, and 1 small child and Matherne is survived by a widow and 3 small children. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jones of Enon, a brother of Dr. H.V. Jones of Bogalusa. He also leaves a wife and several children, other brothers and a sister. -- Mrs. T.S. Conerly, wife of Dr. T.S. Hermon to Denman Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Walker of Franklinton. The marriage took place in McComb. -- Married Irene Holmes to Thad Miller. -- John M. Love was called to his old home in Brookhaven, Miss., Thursday with the death of his mother. Mother Love was 83 years old and is survived by 4 sons, 3 daughters, 8 grand- children, and numerous great grandchildren. -- J. Warren Thomas of St. Tammany Parish, died at his home in Covington Wednesday last at the age of 62 years. Interment was made in the Thomas cemetery near Taliseek where he was born and reared. He is survived by an aged mother, his widow, and 11 children. -- 06-03-1926 Marriage License: Hermon A. Foil and Mr. and Mrs D.I. Foil attended the funeral of Mrs. Mattie Adams, Sunday. She was buried at the Adams cemetery in Angie. She made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ard Foil. -- Thursday night, Mrs. Bertha Westmoreland, wife of Herbert West- moreland of Clifton died in the Brock hospital in McComb. She was buried at the Pleasant Hill church cemetery and was the daughter of F.M. Johnson of Mt. Mermon. Mrs. Westmoreland was 28 years old and leaves a husband, 1 son, her father, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters. -- Friday night, little Frederick Miller, the 18 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Miller, died. Intermetnt was in the family cemetery. -- 07-01-1926 Sunday in Bogalusa, George Newman was instantly killed in a car wreck, and Will Beard, son of the driver of the car was seriously injured. Newman's body was taken to Glading, Miss. for burial. -- P.L. Bennett of the 2nd ward, a man near 60 years old, died of blood poison. Interment followed in the Fisher cemetery. -- The 12 year old son of Henry Crocket of the 6th ward accidentally killed himself Tuesday, playing with his father's gun. The body was laid to rest in the Enon cemetery. -- Married at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Felder Brumfield of Sunny Hill, Agnes Brumfield and Prof. James M. Breeden of Shreveport. -- Marriage License: Gregory S. Scarborough to Ollie Lee Clark, Boga- lusa; Landren Carter to Isado Cummings, Bogalusa; Julious Peyton to Ollie Carter, Bogalusa. -- 07-08-1926 Mrs. J.B. Chandler of Bogalusa died Friday night. She was the 2nd daughter of J. Walter Brumfield, and married Mr. Chandler some 15 years ago. Survivors are: her husband, father, 2 sisters, 2 brothers. The body was buried in the Bogalusa cemetery. -- Mr. Pink Bennett died last Tuesday morning. The remains were buried in the Fisher church cemetery. The deceased was born in Washington Parish and is 49 years old. He married Miss Stella Miller, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Miller, who with 5 children survive. -- Marriage License: Joe Walker to Sophia Gatzman, Bogalusa; Lewis Dunn to Essie Powell, Bogalusa; Milton Roberson to Mamie Robson, Bogalusa; Robert Conley to Agatha Louise Russell, New Orleans; Fred R. Pierce, Sunny Hill; Milton Cooper, Moss Point, to Jeanette Tyler, Hazelhurst, Miss.; Izzie Clark to Mary Duncan, Bogalusa. -- Little Virgiania, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Bainster of Norfolk, Va., died Tuesday, at the age of 1 year, 8 months, and 4 days, following severe burns sustained Thursday, when she fell into a bucket of scalding water while staying at the grandparent's home, Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Knight of Franklinton. Interment in the Ellis cemetery. -- Sandy Walters of Arizona, who was born and raised in this parish, was brought back here for burial in the Varnado cemetery. -- 07-29-1926 Louis Aaron McDaniel, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. McDaniel, and grandson, of Mr. and Mrs. R.R. Jenkins, near Springhill, died July 25th, at the age of 1 year, 11 months, and 28 days. Interment was in the Enon cemetery. -- Born to Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Snell a 9 pound boy, Loriza Dow, after his grandfather Snell. -- Marriage License: A.E. Knight to Effie Dillon, Bogalusa; Colbert Corkern, Franklinton to Ruby Givens, Mt. Hermon. -- 08-05-1926 Mrs. Iddo J. "Aunt Babe" Ball of Angie, died Friday and was laid to rest in the family burying ground. She had no children. She leaves a husband, of over 50 years of marriage. -- John Breland, brother of Captian Ernest Breland, died in south Miss. Infirmary from typhioid fever. The remains were taken back to the old home at Pine for burial Thursday. Mr. Breland was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Bareland of Pine and had his residensce at Wanilla, Miss. He is survived by a widow of whom he was married to for 14 years, a mother, father, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. -- Bogalusa July 29th, Gus Scroggins was killed when an iron pulley broke and hurled his body through a 12 inch brick wall, and falling 25 feet from the engine. He is survived by a widow and 2 small children. -- Theodore Sampey Gayer, 16 years old, an son of Rev. and Mrs. Theodore Gayer of Pineville, died presumably with the flu. The body was brought to Franklinton for burial in the Ellis cemetery beside his grandmother Johnson. -- Marriage License: Fred Dillon, Lexie, Miss., to Britton Smith, Foxworth, Miss.; Henry Jackson to Nettie Graves, Bogalusa. -- Jane Thompson, mother of Easter Dyson, died at age 93, and was laid to rest on Easter Hill. She is survived by 13 children, 67 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren. -- 08-12-1926 Marriage License: Dosie Harper, Star, Miss., to Anna Bell Louis, Varnado; Charlie Allen to Eva Ladiner, Bogalusa; Jessie L. H. Gayer, Rev. C.T. Corkern died at the age of 65 years, 11 months, and 21 days. He married 1st, Mollie Magee, sister of W.L. Magee. He later married Mrs. May Voyles, widow of Rev. Claude Voyles of Shreve- port. The following children survive him, Mrs. Marion Knight, C.J. The body was brought back to Shreveport for interment. -- Sunday, the 3 month old infant of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wood of Clifton died of diptheria. -- 09-16-1926 Mrs. Bethania Brock, wife of Seymore Brock and daughter of Mrs. William Simmons of Mt. Hermon, died at her home near Warnerton last Wednesday and was buried at the Bogue Chitto church. She was 47 years old and born and raised near Mt. Hermon. She was the widow of the late Sylvester Jordan, a Confederate Veteran and resided in this parish. She left here in 1902 with her 3 granddaughter and her sister-in-law, John W. He leaves a father, General Rester, widow, Mrs. Mary Jones Rester, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jones, 5 children; brother, Hezzie Rester of Ponchatoula. Wood of Franklinton, a sister, being at her bedside. -- 12-30-1926 Died December 24th, Billie Rimes Jr., while on a Christmas visit to his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rimes, drank coal oil from a pop bottle, from which he died within a couple of hours.
