He was married to Inez Sandusky on 6-13-1871 in Jessaman Co., Ky; To this union 5 children were born, 3 of whom survive, with 8 grandchildren. She was the daughter of Wesley and Adrina Bond Crow. Mrs. Myles was born in this parish on 8-31-1874. Thirty-five years ago, she married I.T. Myles, son of E.D. Myles. To this union, they had 4 children of which 3 are still living. Survivors are her husband, 3 children, Mrs. Adnell Toney, Ambrose, and Earlie Myles, 6 grand children, 2 brtohers, Buck and Bolivar Crow, 5 sisters. Inter- ment was in the Wallace cemetery on Monday. -- Thursday, January 6th, Pearl Jones, 10 year old daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Bolivar Jones passed away. Hermon. -- Oliver Perry Thomas, a life long resident of this parish and an old Confederate Soldier, died Saturday at the age of 84 years, following an attack of pneumonia. Deceased was father of S.S. Thomas near Hackley, with whom he made his home and is survived by a large connection, there being more than 200 grand children in the family. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon. -- Died, Mrs. L.C. Rogers (Rosella Magee Rogers) of Clifton, aged 72 years, died Saturday afternoon. She is survived by 7 children, 5 sons, 2 daughters, 38 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren. Bourgeois was called to New Orleans Thursday to her mother, who passed away Friday at a very old age. -- Mr. and Mrs. Mike Foil attended the funeral of the infant daughter of their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Bateman at Bogalusa, Sunday. -- Miss Ekel Alford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Esco Alford married Thursday to Mr. Herbert Bickham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bickham. -- Born to Mr. and Mrs. Dallas M. Magee of Folsom on December 8th, 1926, a son, Jackson Morgan. -- Married, A.C. Wacom and Hazel Forest of Sunny Hill. -- Guy Amento, one in a little Italian colony at Stein, on the Boguechitto branch just above Rio, was killed Tuesday morning in an altercation with Toney Fasola, one of his neighboring country-men. Myles to Inez Morris, Franklinton; Anthony Florenza to Garlanina Gullatto. -- Died February 14th, Ed. Alford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Alford of Sunny Hill, at age of 45. Interment in the Sunny Hill cemetery. He leaves a sister, Miss Rose Alford. -- Jane Thomas died last Wednesday night at the home of her brother, Robert S. Thomas near Bolivar. She was 67 yeas old and never married, was born and raised in this community. -- 02-24-1927 Walter Denman of Brookhaven died following an automobile acci- dent last week, He leaves a widow and aged father, brother, Dr. J.C. Deman. Interment was in the old Denman family bury- ing ground in Pike County. -- J.C. Mills died a sudden death Friday. He suffered from Bright's disease. Interment in the Bogalusa cemetery. He is survived by a widow and 1 grown son. -- I.B. Wascom of Folsom, elderly brother of Charley Wascom, who had just returned to Meridian, died Tuesday night. Funeral services was held Wednesday with interment in the family cemetery on the old Wascom farm near Folsom. -- Born to Mr. and Mrs. M.W. Erwin on February 8th, a son. -- Married February 23rd, Bob Gill, son of the late William Gill, to Essie Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Miller. -- Edward J. Alford, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Alford, died last Monday in the Jackson Hospital. He was born 12-9-1880. The remains were brought home and buried in the Roberts' cemetery Wednesday. -- 03-03-1927 Lee Toney, deputy sheriff, shot and killed Andy Marlen or Marler at Warnerton, last Thursday, after attacking the officer. The body of Marler was taken by his wife to Kirklin, Walthal County for burial. -- Ira B. "Bud" Wascom died Tuesday, in the home of his sister, Mrs. Lilli Blackwell. He was born 1-19-1869 near Shilo church, Tangi- pahoa Parish. Mr. Wascom was married to Louise Corkern and had 9 children. About 12 years ago, he married second Miss Mytena Abney of Abita Springs. She died a few years later. He was buried at the old family graveyard near his home in Folsom. -- Born to Mr. and Mrs. F.C. Frey on Wednesday, March 2nd, a daughter. -- Born to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Moore on Friday, February 18th, a girl. -- On February 27th at his home in the 9th ward near Stafford's mill, W.R. Bond died at 46 years of age. He is survived by a widow, 5 daughters, 4 sons, 3 brothes. She was 68 years old and leaves 4 children, Mrs. Ott of Osyka, Miss., Miss Isabel Roberson of Oklahoma, James and John Roberson of Tenn. Hermon. -- Rev. and Mrs. F.N. Sweeney received a telegram this week from Mr. and Mrs. Frank K. Sweeney of Chicago, announcing the birth of a fine daughter on May 19th. -- 06-02-1927 On May 26th, at the age of 69 years, 6 months, and 9 days, Mr. Louis A. Brumfield passed away. He was a life-time resident of Washington Parish, was married to Celia Brumfield, daughter of Dr. Varnado, who passed away about 3 years ago. They had 10 children, 9 of whom are still living. Children are: Mrs. Dora King of Texas, George L., Dan, Marshall, and Angus Brumfield, Mesdames: C.C. welch, H.C. Fussell, Daniel Garrett, J. Wright Simmons. Hermon folks went to St. Helena Parish Monday to attend the funeral of Daniel Brumfield of Pine Ridge, who died at his home Sunday. He was 87 years old and was born and raised in Washington Parish. He was a brother of T.W. Brumfield at Sunny Hill. -- 08-04-1927 Marriage License: Norman McCain, Franklinton, to Cora Thomas, Bogalusa; Will Allen to Erner Barber, Bogalusa; David Harris to Joe Carr, Bogalusa; Eli Rogers to Delia Jackson, Bogalusa; J.L. Rosberry, Jr., Hattiesburg, to Norma Bennett, Bogalusa; Elbert McCray to Allie Smith, Clifton. -- Samuel A. Ott, one of the old citizens of Osyka, Miss., died at his home on July 30th. He was born in Osyka on 4-14-1858. On 3-18-1887, he married Georgia Richie and had 9 children who survive him: Misses Ruth and Harriet Ott, Mrs. R.R. Williams, Mrs. J.W. McNeece, Sam, Carl, Kenith, and Richie Ott of Osyka, and Leiutenant Roderick Ott of Texas. -- 08-11-1927 Charles Bluford Seale, Confederate Veteran, died at his home near Mt. Hermon on August 3rd, at age 88 years. She lived all her married life in Washington Parish with her husband, the late B.B. Burris, who preceeded her in death a little more than 7 years ago. Ott. When about 20 he married Emily Jones, daughter of Dr. William Jones of Osyka, who preceeded him to the beyond. They had 7 children, C.M. Ott, T.E. Ott, W,J. Ott, Mrs. L.J. Slay, Mrs. Bertha Ott Jones, Miss Pearl Ott, and H.L. Ott. He has 18 grandchildren and a mother who is 91 years old, 2 brothers, W.D. Ott and T. Ross Ott and 1 sister, Mrs. L.L. Gibbs.
