She was laid to rest in the Roberts cemetery. She was the daughter of the late N. Magee and Celia Roberts, nee Magee, and was born on 3-29-1854, and married on 1-27-1870. Thirteen children were born 6 survives. -- Died, Mrs. Mary Eliza Stuart on Tuesday, who will be laid to rest in the Ellis cemetery. She was the wife of F.T. Stuart and was married on 11-22-1866. She leaves 2 sons, S.D. of Port Arthur, Tx., and Ernest of Woodville, Miss.; 3 daughters, Miss M.M. Stuart and Mrs. J.L. Stafford of Ok., and Mrs. C.C. Simmons of Franklinton. -- 02-02-1928 Francis Temple Stuart was born in Wilkinson Co., Miss., on 2-26- 1840. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.C Simmons, in Franklinton on January 29th, at the age 87 years, 11 months, and 3 days. He married Mary Eliza McElwee on 11-22-1866 and had 12 children, 6 boys, and 6 girls, of whom 5 still survive. His wife, whom he was married to for 61 years, passed away 5 days ago. -- Marriage License: Willie Williams to Burdine Seal, Varnado; Frank Story to Susie Johnson, Pearl River, Ellis Blackwell, Tylertown, to Virgie Dillon, Franklinton; Howard Richard, Bogalusa, to Clara Downs, Magnolia. -- 02-09-1928 Born to Mr. and Mrs. H.O. Simmons of Magnolia, a son, Hyman Ottis Jr., weighing 8 1/2 pounds on February 3rd. -- J.J. Reese was called to Centerville, Miss., on February 2nd by the death of his brother, E.M. Reese, who died at the age of 53 years, buried in the Betheny church cemetery near Centervillle. -- Rev. A.A. McKnight was called to his home at Clifton, by the death of his sister, Miss Shelley McKnight who died Tuesday at her home. -- 02-16-1928 Alozono Welch, who was born and reared in Washington Parish and lived here until about 12 years ago, when he moved with his wife and 4 children to Eagle Lake, Tx., who died at the age of 52 years, Friday and buried there Sunday. He is the son of Mrs. Mima Welch and a brother, C.C. Welch and W.M. Welch of this place, Morgan Welch of Bogalusa. -- Robert E. Riley died last Thursday at his home in Picayune. The deceased was born here on 1-16-1870. His first wife was Mary Ott, daughter of Laurence Ott, who had 4 sons, Fred, Jewel, and Saxson of Picayune, and Chester of Varnado. He married second to Martha Walker, who survive him. He was buried at the Mt. Hermon Baptist church cemetery. -- Born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilks W. Varnado on February 12th, a daughter, weighing 9 pounds. -- Died at his home in Hackley on January 25th, Mr. Andrew Jenkins, died at age 90 years. She is survived by 10 children, 1 daughter being Mrs. D.L. Bateman, 1 grandson, Wayne Bahm. Interment was in the family cemetery. -- David A. Bulloch, a former resident, died Sunday, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Bulloch of the 1st ward. He was 43 years, 11 months, and 2 days old. He married on 8-2- 1908 to Nannie Blumenthal. He has 1 boy and 2 girl. Burial was in the Ellis cemetery. -- A 7 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. George Creel of Richardson died Saturday and was buried in the Fisher cemetery. -- 03-29-1928 D.H. Mason died at his home in Covington Monday. He was the editor of the St. Tammany Farmer newspaper. -- Died, Rev. B.A. Lea, near Stony Point, Friday, March 16th at the age of 80 years, 5 months, and 5 days. He was born in New Orleans and married Laura Russell and then they moved to Baton Rouge. The remains were brought back to Franklinton Sunday and buried. He leaves 1 sister, Mrs. Robert Brumfield of Franklinton, a wife at Roseland, mother, Mrs. Nora Metz, 2 brothers, Eddie and Ralph Metz of Baton Rouge, and 1 sister, Mrs. Ella Berry of New Orleans. -- 06-14-1928 Walter K. Amacker, 46 years old of Kentwood. He died from a self- inflicted bullet wound. He is survived by a wife, 3 sons, Walter K. Jr.; Thad; and Obedia, a sister, Mrs. J.A. Interment was beside her son, Henry Wills. She was 81 years of age and is survived by 1 daughter, Miss Mary Wills and 3 sisters. -- There were 2 deaths in Mt. Hermon this week, Mrs. Sara Miller, at the home of her son, Talma Miller on Wednesday. She was 64 years old and leaves 7 sons and 2 daughters, 1 brother. Interment was in the cemetery near Oak Grove. Wednesday, Avery, 6 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Watson died. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill church cemetery. -- Jules O. LeBlanc, father of Paul O. LaBlanc of Bogalusa, died at his home at St. Gabriel, La., Sunday. -- Married Wednesday, Anita Richardson, daughter of Mrs. Leota Richardson and the late Hon. S.P. Richardson, to Ray Willard. -- 07-19-1928 Died, Mrs. Mavis Harvey Michie of Oklahoma City died Tuesday and brought back to her old home for burial from Bethel church. -- Miss Tressie Green married at her home in Enon Sunday to James Cleverdon of Summerville, Ala. -- Married, Collon Fendlason, daughter of Georga M. Fendlason of Amite, to Robert Bennett Boswell. Mr. Brumfield was buried Monday in the church cemetery on Easter Hill. -- Loren Alford, 29 years old, son of Luther Alford of Mt. Hermon, drowned Friday night on the Boguechitto River near Bush, when the boat he and his brother-in-law, M. Fortinberry, were in capsized. Funeral services were held at Mt. Hermon Monday and interment was in the church cemetery. -- Married, Miss Willie Richardson, daughter of Sheriff H.C. Richardson, to Dr. Roland Young of Covington, son of Dr. and Mrs. F.F. Young, on Tuesday. -- George Brumfield, a resident of Bogalusa for the past few years, died at his home Sunday. Interment was at Sunny Hill. -- Born to Mr. and Mrs. John Runte at Lake Charles, a 7 1/2 pound son. Mrs. Runte is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Wood here. -- Died Thursday, Robert Nettles, who spent the winter and spring in Rev. and Mrs. F.N. Sweeney's home.
