Spring to W.G. Weakley, son of Prof. and Mrs. J.A. Weakley. They made their home in Sunny Hill. -- Married last Thursday at Kentwood, Mildred Fortenberry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I.N. Fortenberry, to James Baringer. -- Murray Schilling died this morning. Interment is in the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church cemetery. She was 75 years old and leaves a husband, 8 children, 1 being Luther, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. -- 01-14-1932 Marriage License: A.R. Toney to Frankie Johnson, Franklinton; Herman Sharp to Annie May Wallace, Franklinton; Leroy Brown to Classie Dillon, Franklinton; J.W. Alford, McComb, to Inez Chandler, Bogalusa; Judson Austin to Annie May Edwards, Bogalusa. -- Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Bickham of Taft, Tex., were called here last week by the death of Mrs. Bickham's brother, William Fussell, whose body was brought from Baton Rouge to here and was buried in the Fisher cemetery. His mother is Mrs. Roan Fussell of the 9th ward. -- Married Saturday in Baton Rouge, Willard Knight, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.P. Knight of Enon, to M.E. Weeks of Leesville. -- 01-21-1932 Mr. and Mrs. Otto Magee, J. Adolph Pierce, and Conrad Pierce went to Sun, Friday to attend the funeral of their cousin, Joe Pierce, who drowned Thursday. -- Sam Seal of the first ward, died Monday at age 78 years. Burial in the Seals cemetery near Canaan. Survivors are 10 children and 2 brothers. -- Walter Dykes died in Mt. Hermon Friday and buried in the Roberts cemetery. -- Jep J. Miller died on January 14th at the age of 75 years, 3 months, and 18 days. He married second to Manda Brumfield and had 1 son, Howard, after his first wife died. Interment was in the Ellis cemetery. Schilling and had A.M., Mrs. D.J. McMellon, Mrs. Preston Goings, L.O., J.F., F.S., Mrs. T.A. Seal, and Mrs. E.H. Burch. Burial was in the Mt. Hermon Baptist cemetery. -- Born January 24th to Mr. and Mrs. Obie Mizell at Isabel, a son, Ellis. Mrs. Mizell is the daughter of T.J. Burris, a 7 1/2 pound daughter. -- 02-18-1932 Harvey Seal of Varnado, 22 years old and son of Joe Seal was found guilty of manslaughter Monday. He killed Hilliard Crain last April. -- John M. Love, was called to Meridian Friday by the death of his aged auntie, Mrs. Rebecca Holbrook, the last surviving member of his mother's immediate family. The body was taken back to the old home in Macon for interment. Survivors are her brothers, R.D. Love of Kiln, and J.S. Love of Jackson, and M.P.L. Love of Hattiesburg. -- George C. Blake of Varnado died Monday in the company of his son, Willis. He was 75 years old. Survivors are his widow, 4 sons, and 3 daughters. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Jack Alford, and was born on 12-16-1876. In 3-1906, he married Nola Alford and had a son, Harold. Hermon, 3 sisters, Mrs. Ella Merritt of Hammond, Mrs. Rose Haselquist of New Orleans, and Mrs. Blanche Butler of Little Rock, Ark. -- 03-24-1932 Mrs. Emma Richardson Fisher died Saturday, at age 71 years, and was the widow of George Fisher, who died many years ago. Ahe was the daughter of the late William P. Richardson and a sister of Sheriff H.C. Richardson. Survivors are 2 sons, T.A. of this place, and James of New Orleans, 2 daughters, Mrs. M.L. Fussell and Mrs. Lee Ezell, both of Franklinton, 3 brothers, W.L., H.C., and L..L. Richardson, 2 sisters, Mrs. W.L. Fussell of Kentwood and Mrs. L.A. Bickham of Van Vleck, Tx. Interment was in the neighborhood cemetery by her husband. -- Boy Booty died yesterday and will be buried in the Pleasant Hill cemetery. Roberts, and Alyne Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Miller married yesterday in Franklinton. -- Dewitt L. Bateman died Tuesday, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Bateman. He was born and reared in Franklinton and married twice, first to Ada Jones and had Mrs. P.N. Givens, Mrs. John Corkern, Mrs. Elbert Hennesy, Miss Bessie Bateman, Doyle, Mouton, and David Bateman; second marriage to Nettie Bahm. Mr. Bateman was born 1-29-1880, and died 5-3-1932, being 52 years, 3 months, and 4 days of age. Interment was in the Ellis cemetery. -- 05-12-1932 Mrs. Dora Schilling Magee died May 7th. She was born 5-3-1859, and married George W. Magee in 1880. They had 6 children, all preceding their mother in death. Survivors are her husband, 2 half sisters, Mrs. M.C. Poole, Mrs. H.C. Richardson, a half brother, J.A. Wadsworth, 1 granddaughter, Miss Elise Tims. Owen and Mrs. Annie Peese of Jacksonville, Tx., Mrs. Jack Lunde of Los Angeles, Ca., Mrs. Grady Dammage and Mrs. Dells McNeil of Flagstaff, Ariz., Mrs. J.C. Jones of Jackson, Miss., and Mrs. W.S. Craft of Mt. Hermon; 2 sons, John of Baton Rouge, and Frank E. Hermon for burial. -- Eliza Zion, a colored woman died Friday and buried in the Conerly cemetery. She was about 95 years of age. -- The five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Mizell, living below Rio, died from accidentally shooting himself in the head Saturday. Interment in the Pierce cemetery. -- 06-16-1932 Born to Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Denman, Jr. on Monday, a 9 pound son, James Jerry. Grandparents are Dr. and Mrs. J.C. Denman, and Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Warner. -- Mrs. Thomas Primes James died in Mt. Hermon Tuesday. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery. She was about 55 years old. Survivors are his widow, mother, brothers, and sisters at Ponchatoula. -- John T. Dyson of Sunny Hill, died Saturday at age 75 years old. Forty-five years ago he married Rose Richardson, who survives him. They had no children. Interment was in the Sunny Hill cemetery. -- Mrs. Millard C. Parks died Friday at Mt. Hermon. Interment was at the old Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors are her husband, 1 child by a former marriage. Miss Ouida Hatten was born and reared near Wiggins, Miss., and was 24 years old at the time of death. She married her husband on 2-9-1932. Survivors are her parents, brothers, and sisters, also. -- 07-07-1932 John I. Dyson died yesterday. Burial was in the Spring Hill cemetery. -- Joseph W. Carter born in Amite Co., Miss., in 1866, and died July 2nd. He married Mary Elizabeth "Tince" Richardson, daughter of the late Col. and Mrs. Hardy V. Richardson, and had 1 daughter, Mrs. A. Conerly (Maude) Stone of Shreveport; 2 sons, Homer R. Carter of Beaumont, Tx., and Clyde W. Carter of Varnado, who survive. Interment was in the Sunny Hill cemetery. -- Mrs. D.C. Easley of McComb died and funeral services was Friday. She was the former Mary Alice Bickham, born and reared here. She is survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. Angie Pearce of Magnolia and Mrs. Bessie Smith of Poplarville, 4 brothers, W.E. and Robert Bickham of Clifton, Hamp and DeWitt Bickham of St. Francisville. -- Mrs. J.L. (Norene) Bateman died July 3rd, at the age of 66 years and 10 months. Mrs. Bateman and her husband were married for 44 years. She was born and reared in Tangipahoa, and came to Washington Parish with her mother, Mrs. Bahm, at the age of 18 years. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Bateman; Rev. Joe, Noel, both died within 3 months of each other, J. Fred Bateman. Interment was in the Ellis cemetery. Survivors are her husband, 1 son, J. Fred, 2 daughters, Mrs. John Pigott and Mrs. Herman Foil of Bogalusa, and 5 grand children. -- 07-14-1932 Dewitt Alexander Brock of Sunny Hill died Thursday and was buried in the Sunny Hill cemetery. He was 57 years old and is survived by his widow and 1 daughter, and 4 sons. -- Marriage License: Otis Tate, Warnerton, to Juanita Magee, Franklinton; Bennie Reddex, Shreveport, to Ethel Harvey, Clifton; Oscar Payne to Delia Hodge, Varnado; J.A. Kleinpeter, Roseland, to Vivian Shelton, Husser. -- John T. Dyson was born in Tangipahoa on 4-26-1857 and the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Dyson, and died on June 25th. He married 12-15-1887 to Rose Richardson, daughter of the late Capt. And Mrs. Hardy Richardson. Burial was at the Sunny Hill Baptist Church cemetery. -- Born to Mr. and Mrs. Otis Burkhalter on July 7th, a 9 pound daughter. -- Dewitt Alexander Brock, born Pike Co., Miss. on 11-12-1875 and died 7-7-1932, burial being in the Sunny Hill cemetery. On 8-11-1896 he married Mallie Crow, daughter of the late George Crow. They had 9 children, 7 surviving. Survivors are his father, Hon. A. Brock, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, wife, 7 children. -- Roland Tate died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fay Strickland at Eagle Lake, Tx. He was a brother of Hon. G.M. Tate of Mt. Hermon, and was born and raised in Sunny Hill; was about 56 years old. He moved to Texas about 20 years ago. -- 07-21-1932 Mrs. Tressa Green Cleverdon, daughter of Mrs. Johnny Green, died Friday. She married Jim Cleverdon of Summerdale, Ala. On 7-15-1928. Burial was in the Enon cemetery. Survivors are her husband, mother, 1 sister, Mrs. Lanese Jones, 3 brothers, Hubert of Summberdale, Lubie and Laurence Green of Enon. -- Born July 18th to Mr. and Mrs. John Pigott, a nine pound girl. -- Mrs. A. Rouselle died Thursday in Bogalusa. -- Louis Stafford died at age 66 years, formerly of the Fisher neighborhood, but now a resident of Roseland. Burial was at the Fisher cemetery. Deceased was a brother of H.J. Stafford and Mrs. M.E. Magee. -- Married July 15th, Janella Stevenson, daughter of Mrs. O.A. Green, to J.D. Mrs. Albert Goldate and 5 children, Leo, age 13; Joseph Vernard, age 5; Verna, age 3; twins, Allen and Peter Goldate, age 4, burned to death. Mr. Goldate and 2 children, Andrew, age 10; and Ernestine Goldate, age 12, got out of the house. -- Married July 23rd, Thressa Bankston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.V. Bankston, to William L. Powell. -- Married Saturday, Wilva Simmons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Simmons, to Coney Bond. -- Archie Whittington died at age 66 years old, and had served as deputy sheriff several years ago. Survivors are 3 sons, 3 daughters. Bateman of Mobile, a 9 pound son. Mrs. Bateman was the former Roberta Magee. -- Isom Williamson died Tuesday at age 78 years. Interment was in the Rester cemetery. Wood. -- 12-15-1932 Louie Mitchell died Wednesday at Joe Alford's place. Burial was in the cemetery at the old Mt. Hermon Church cemetery. He was 44 years old and leaves a wife and five children. -- W. Jack Alford died November 20th and was born in Pike Co., Miss. on 7-19-1845. In 1870 he married Mary E. Magee and had 13 children, 5 surviving, Mrs. N.M. Merritt of Hammond; Mrs. Raymond Hasselquist of New Orleans; Mrs. Henry (Blanch) Butler of Little Rock, Ark.; 2 sons, Walton H. Alford of Sunny Hill and Carl S. (Bob) Alford of Mt. Hermon. Burial was in the Roberts cemetery. -- Mrs. Ellen Bond of El Paso, Tx. died. Interment was in the Bond cemetery.
