He was born in the 2nd ward of Washington Parish on 6-9-1866, and was twice married, his first wife, Ida Thomas, after her death, he married Josephine Jones, who with 3 children, and 1 sister, Mrs. E. Spurlock of Mt. Hermon, and 1 brother, Chester Roberts of Memphis, Tn. survive. -- Louisa B. Wood, daugter of A.D. Wood, died Tuesday. Interment in the Magee cemetery across the Bogue Chitto River. Lambert of this place, died in New Orleans Friday, when he fell from a second story balcony at his home. He was born 12-18-1856 at Magnolia, Miss., was an infant when moved to Washington Parish. He was twice married, first to Josephine Corinne Carson in 10-1880, who died leaving 2 sons and 3 daughters to rear; married second 6-1895 to Mary Fidelia Hinson, to whom had only 1 daughter. The groom is the son of the late Nolan Alford, and the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David McMellon of Osyka and a granddaughter of Hon. M.J. Schilling of Mt. Hermon. -- Mrs. Oscar Hunt, age 37, lived 4 miles north Franklinton, died in a New Orleans hospital Wednesday after a short illness and was buried Thursday in the McGehee cemetery near Bogalusa. Survivors are her husband and 1 child, and aged mother, 6 brothers and 2 sisters, H.J. Delaughter of Franklinton, being one of the brothers. -- Mrs. Maggie Corkern, age 78 years, and wife of W.A. Corkern, died near Enon Wednesday. Her husband is the only survivor. She recently celebrated her 91 birthday. -- 11-29-1934 James Miller was foully murdered at Osyka Friday, and James Brock and Breb Alford, his companions were charged with the crime. Miller's body was brought to Mt. Hermon for interment in the family cemetery. He was 42 years old and is survived by his widow and 2 daughters, and 2 sons. -- J.A. Fussell of Kentwood died Thursday. He was a resident of this parish for many years. He married Mollie Wood, daughter of J.P. Wood of Franklinton, to which 4 children were born: Mrs. W.H. Kemp of Baton Rouge, Mrs. H.S. White, and Mrs. G.E. Thomas, B.D. Fussell, all of Eagle Lake, Tx. He is also survived by his second wife and 1 brother, A.B. Fussell, and a sister, Mrs. J.R. Colly, both of Texas.
