Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Florence Daggins Hooker; a son, Edward Hooker; two daughters-in-law, Janice W. Hooker and Reamon E. Hooker; four grandchildren Jon Kristian (Melissa) Hooker of The Woodlands, Texas, Stacie E. Hooker of Houston, Texas, Robyn D. Hooker of Los Angeles, CA, and Tai R. Hooker of Los Angeles; two great- grandchildren, Simone and Kamryn Hooker of The Woodlands; two sisters, Earnestine Richardson of Oakland, CA, Edith Collier of Houston; and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a son, Robert E. Hooker; his parents; and two brothers. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 1017 City Limits Road. Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa is in charge of arrangements. James Davis Magee (Died June 2, 2003) SLIDELL - James Davis Magee, 63, a resident of E. 6th Street in Bogalusa, died Monday in NorthShore Regional Medical Center in Slidell. Survivors include his wife, Rosie Magee of Columbia, MS; a son, James E. Magee of Jackson, MS; five daughters, Linda D. Magee of New Orleans, Diane (Johnny) Magee of Bogalusa, Patricia Ann Magee, Lorraine (Jerry) Magee Tatum, and Victoria Magee, all of Columbia, MS; two brothers, Charles Ray Magee of Varnado, and Eugene Magee of Ocean Springs; two sisters, Creola Jackson of Varnado, and Lula Mae Crain of Bogalusa; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Midessa and Eugene Magee; and a brother Myrtis Magee. Visitation will be held tomorrow at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa from 2-7 p.m. with a family hour from 7-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Salter Chapel AME Church in Bogalusa with the Rev. Sherman Barry officiating. Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery. Floyd L. 'Mac' McElroy (Died June 3, 2003) FRANKLINTON - Floyd L. "Mac" McElroy, 78, a native of Houma and longtime resident of Port Arthur, Texas, died yesterday in Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton. Born Aug. 9, 1924 in Houma, he retired from Texaco Chemical Company of Port Neches, Texas after 34 years of loyal service. Survivors include his wife, Ann McElroy of Franklinton; two daughters, Terry McElroy of Arlington, MA, and Darlene Hazelwood of Franklinton; a son, Terry Jones of Bogalusa; five grandchildren; and a great- grandchild. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Jean McElroy; two sons, Danny McElroy and Larry McElroy; two brothers, Earnie McElroy and Kenneth McElroy; a sister, Elsie Turner; and his parents, Albert and Sadie McElroy. Visitation will be held at Crain Funeral Home today from 6-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Larry Archote officiating. Burial will be in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches Friday. Aubrey Chester Miller (Died June 2, 2003) BOGALUSA - Aubrey Chester Miller, 83, a native and lifelong resident of Greenville, AL who had resided with his daughter in Bogalusa for the past year, died Monday in Dixon Medical Center in Covington. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Stewart and her husband Charlie of Bogalusa, Shirley Porter and her husband Lon of Aurora, CO, and Gaynelle Kelley and her husband Richard of Cridersville, OH; a brother, Calvin Miller of Greenville; a sister, Edith Hoffman of Fairhope, AL; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Preceding him in death was his wife of 55 years, Edna Kelly Miller; his parents, James and Nannie Miler; a granddaughter, Amy Turner; three brothers, George, Zettie, and Lewis Miller; five sisters, Eva Andress, Ettie Belle Riley, Marie Stough, and Gladys and Lucille Miller. Visitation will be held tomorrow from 6-9 p.m. at Dunklin-Herndon Funeral Home of Greenville. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Herbert Brown officiating . Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Greenville. Brown-McGehee Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
