All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ William 'Bill' Kropog (Died June 6, 2003) SPRINGFIELD n William (Bill) Kropog, 70, a native of Springfield and a longtime resident of Bogalusa, died Friday at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He worked at the Bogalusa Paper Mill for almost 30 years before he retired as the technical director of the mill. He was a longtime member of Annunciation Catholic Church and School where he served as its first school board president. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1819 in Bogalusa, for almost 30 years, having served a term as Grand Knight. Survivors include his wife: Barbara Efferson Kropog; one daughter: Michelle Elizabeth Duhe and her husband Craig Duhe of Mandeville; two sons: William "Bill" Kropog Jr. and his wife Jeannine F. Kropog of Covington, and J. Christopher M. Kropog of Springfield; three grandchildren: William John Pierre Duhe, Candice Marie Kropog and William Matthew Kropog; three brothers: Steve Kropog of San Francisco, Joseph Kropog of Albany and Alex Kropog of Springfield; and three sisters: Elizabeth Kelly of Troy, AL, Pauline Frisbie of Springfield and Helen Gottschalk of Goodbee. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mike and Elizabeth Juhasz Kropog; and brothers: Mike, John Paul and George Kropog. Visitation will be at the Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd., Hammond, otoday from 6 to 10 p.m. and on tomorrow from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Religious services will begin at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Margaret Catholic Church, located just south of the intersection of Interstate 12 (exit 32) and LA Highway 43 South in Albany. Interment will immediately follow at the St. Margaret Catholic Church Cemetery adjacent to the church. Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mary Jean Fountain (Died June 5, 2003) BATON ROUGE Mary Jean Fountain, 58, a native of Bogalusa and resident of Baton Rouge, died Thursday at 3:45 p.m. in her home. She was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Carl Bud Fountain; her mother, Kathleen Margiotta; three daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Marshall Wiggins, Shelly and Les Edwards and Wendy Edwards and fiancee, Dean Veron; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Michelle Fountain; her mother-in-law, Lorraine S. Fountain; her twin sister, Judy Ann Margiotta; 13 grandchildren; and her best friends, Hilda and Royce Alford. She was preceded in death by her father, Mike Margiotta; and a sister, Linda Sue Margiotta Cadenhead. Visitation will be tomorrow at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 20440 Highland Road, from 9 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Warren Johnson will officiate and interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Rabenhorst Funeral Home in Baton Rouge is in charge of arrangements. Florence Montgomery Rogers (Died June 5, 2003) BATON ROUGE Florence Montgomery Rogers, 76, a resident of Bogalusa, died Thursday at Landmark Nursing Home in Baton Rouge. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Lex Rogers of Bogalusa; two daughters, Betty and Gordon Albritton of Baton Rouge and Jean and Ken Brown of Ackworth, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Clara Rogers of Brandon, MS; one sister, Neva Hamilton of Baton Rouge; a brother, Ray Montgomery of Bogalusa; six grandchildren, Donna Morgan of McKinney, Texas, Brandi Spence and Shelly Bourg, both of Denham Springs, Scott Courtright of Finley, OH, Steven Rogers of Taylorsville, GA and Tammi Pigott of Ackworth; and seven great-grandchildren, Jessica Morgan of McKinney, Megan Spence and Hunter Bourg, both of Denham Springs, Raitlin and Grace Courtright of Finley and Amber and Philip Rogers of Taylorsville. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence Montgomery; a sister, Mary Lee Schilling; and two brothers, Carl and Earl Montgomery. Visitation was yesterday from 6-9 p.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home. The funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. today with the Rev. Bob Adams officiating. Interment will be in Ponemah Cemetery. Debra Ann Bickham Martin (Died June 7, 2003) BOGALUSA Debra Ann Bickham Martin, 46, a resident of Bogalusa, died yesterday at Ferncrest Nursing Home in New Orleans. Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete.
