All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ Robert Reed 'Bobby' Adams (Died June 10, 2003) SLIDELL n Robert Reed "Bobby" Adams, 83, a resident of Bogalusa, died Tuesday in NorthShore Regional Medical Center in Slidell. Born Nov. 11, 1919, he was employed at Crown Zellerback Corp. from 1939 until 1976 when he retired on disability, except during 1942-46 when he served in World War II in the European Theatre. Survivors include his wife, Mattie Deen Adams; his daughter, Linda Adams Roberts; a grandchild, Robert Benjamin "Robbie" Adams; a brother, Willis Adams; a sister, Elsie Adams Breland; his very special nephew, Jerry Adams and his wife Betty Byrd Adams who assisted him and his wife greatly in the last several years; special family friends, Evelyn M. Miller, Bobby L. Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Julia Keaton Adams; five brothers, Johnny, Densil, Murphy, Ellis, and Purcell Adams; two sisters, Onetha Adams Rawls, and Ollie Adams Arbuthnot; his son, Gary Adams; and his infant grandson, Joseph Griffin "Joey" Adams. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Wednesday. A graveside service was be held at Hillview Memorial Gardens Thursday. Henry W. Gay (Died June 13, 2003) FRANKLINTON -- Henry W. Gay, 68, a resident of Franklinton, died at 4:40 p.m. Friday at his residence. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Mt. Zion United Pentecostal Church. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Tim and Linda Gay of Franklinton; a step-daughter and her spouse, Kim and Mike Petre of Tennesses; four grandchildren, Timothy LamarGay of Tacoma, WA, William Warren "Bill" Gay of Bush and Tina Lynn Williams and Henry Timothy "TJ" Gay of Franklinton. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; a special friend, Eloise Dillon of Franklinton; two half sisters and an aunt Ernestine Alexander of Panama City, FL. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Gay. Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Leon Hickman and Rev. W.L. Tullos officiating. Burial will be in the Henry Gay Family Cemetery
