She was a member of Faith Tabernacle and the widow of Robert L. Kelley. Survivors include three grandchildren, Howard Richard Hanson IV of Pine, Ronda Burkhalter of Purvis, MS, and Regina Lyons of Lumberton, MS; eight great-grandchildren, Ann Hanson, Richard Hanson, Robert Hanson, Ashley Hanson, all of Pine, Bridggett Burkhalter and Marc Burkhalter, both of Purvis, and Gina Lyons and Angel Lyons, both of Lumberton; and a brother, Charlie Bounds of Thomas. Preceding her in death was a daughter, Lanell Hanson; a great-grandson, Timmothy Lyons; and two sisters, Elizabeth Bertucci and Maggie Ortego. Visitation will be held at Faith Tabernacle Church today from 5 p.m. and will continue until time of the funeral service, to be conducted at the church at 11 a.m. by the Revs. Jerry Cox and Aaron Cox. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery. Crain Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Dorothy Marylou McGehee (Died June 16, 2003) BOGALUSA n Dorothy Marylou McGehee, 64, a resident of Bogalusa, died yesterday in her home. She was a loving mother and care giver for many years. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Michael Shelton and Pat McGehee of Wasilla, AK, and Johnny Wayne and Kathy Crosby of Foxworth, MS; three daughters, Adrienne Clement and her husband Larry, Carmen Turnage and husband Julius, all of Bogalusa, and Ann Enke and husband Bob of Montgomery, IL; brothers, Eugene Phelps and wife Jimmie, Edward Phelps and wife Kathleen, Bobby Phelps and wife Donna, and Ray Phelps, all of Bogalusa; sisters, Maxine Creel and husband Leroy, Annell Jones and husband Willie, and Wilda Cochran and husband Fred, all of Bogalusa; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends; and a special sister Judy Miley and her son Tod Miley both of Varnado. Preceding her in death was a son, Joseph Latroy Crosby; and a brother, David Phelps. Visitation will be held today at New Life Pentecostal Church from 5 p.m. until time of the funeral service, to be conducted from the church tomorrow at 1 p.m. The Revs. Otis Pierre, Leslie Quave, and Johnny Wayne Crosby will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Apostolic Holiness Church Cemetery in Foxworth, MS. Clarence Tate Sr. (Died June 14, 2003) FRANKLINTON n Clarence Tate Sr., 85, a resident of Wilbur Smith Road in Franklinton, died Saturday in his home. He was a farmer. Survivors include his wife, Waver Tate of Franklinton; three sons, Clarence Tate Jr., James E. Tate of Franklinton, and John Tate of Mary Ester, FL; four daughters, Evelyn Bickham, Brenda Gatlin, Rene Brumfield, and Renet Tate, all of Franklinton; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Jimmie and Senie Tate; a son; four brothers; and a sister. Visitation will be held Friday from 1-5 p.m. at Ginn Funeral Home in Tylertown, MS. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnnie Causey officiating. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery in Franklinton. Erma Jean Robinson (Died June 17, 2003) BOGALUSA n Erma Jean Robinson, 71, a resident of Ott Street in Bogalusa, died today in the LSU Medical Center in Bogalusa. Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete at this time. John H. Slater Jr. (Died June 12, 2003) BOGALUSA n John H. Slater Jr., 103, a resident of Davis Alley in Bogalusa, died Thursday in Dixon Medical Center in Covington. Born in Brookhaven, MS in 1900, he was the son of the late John H. Slater Sr. and Mariah Short Slater. He leaves to mourn him a son, Juan Clark Slater; a sister, Nannie Jefferson; four grandsons; a granddaughter; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Carrie Mae Brister Slater; a son, Andrew Sampson; two daughters, Willie Bee Sampson and Lizzie Mae Morgan; two sisters, Nancy Johnson, and Gertrude Slater; and a brother, Clark Slater. Visitation will be held tomorrow at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home from 3-6 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Raymond Mims officiating. Burial will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery. June Varnado McDaniel (Died June 16, 2003) FRANKLINTON n June Varnado McDaniel, 78, a resident of the Stoney Point community, died at 1:40 a.m. today in Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church and the widow of Glenn McDaniel. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Sandra McDaniel of Franklinton; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jena and Barry Cain, Keli McDaniel, all of Richland, MS, Traci and Allen Osborn, and Stephen and Nicole Parker, all of Brandon, MS; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Varnado of Franklinton; four sisters, Pearl Walker of Franklinton, Joann Miley, Sandra Smith, both of Bogalusa, and Peggy Fairburn of Tylertown; and numerous nieces and nephews. A son, Larry McDaniel also preceded her in death. Visitation will be held at Crain Funeral Home from 6-10 p.m. today and will continue after 8 a.m. tomorrow until time of the funeral service, to be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. The Elds. Brent King and Don McDaniel will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
