Wood (Died June 23, 2003) FRANKLINTON n John M. Wood, 90, a resident of Franklinton, died at 6:15 a.m. yesterday in his home. He was a retired road machine operator for the Washington Parish Police Jury and also retired from Standard Gravel Company in Franklinton. A past master of the Franklinton Masonic Lodge No. 101, he was also a member of the Palestine Commandery No. 23 of Knights Templar in Bogalusa and a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Ellen W. Wilson of Ethel, and Sally W. and Rusty Fornea of Angie; seven grandchildren, Duane Wilson of Slaughter, Kathy Desormeaux of Abbeville, Robert Fornea of Waller, TX, Michelle Simmons of Hammond, Michael Fornea of Ponchatoula, Stephen Fornea of Sandy Hook, MS, and Anna Temples of Angie; and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his wife, Eckel Jenkins Wood; a son-in-law, Charles V. Wilson; a grandson, David W. Wilson; his parents, Arthur D. and Ella Pierce Wood; three brothers, Hinds, Albert, and Wiley Wood; six sisters, Ludie, Thelma, Ethel, and Ella Wood, Mary Kemp, and Ada Dean Simmons; and six infant brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held at Crain Funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. tomorrow until time for the funeral service, to be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. The Rev. Lyndle Bullard will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the Morris Cemetery in Franklinton.
