She is survived by her husband, Glynn L. Blackwell of Sun; two sons, Roger L. Blackwell of Fort Oglethorp, GA, and Waide G. Blackwell of Lockhart, Texas; two daughters, Pam Blackwell of Sun and Anita Inman of Chattanooga, TN; two brothers, Carl Spurgin of Chattanooga and Everett Spurgin of Houma; two sisters, Desi Sims of Wildwood, GA and Marie Robbins of Ponchatoula; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Final disposition of her earthly remains were private Dellia Garrett (Died May 12, 2003) SLIDELL n Dellia Garrett, 53, a native and resident of Folsom, died May 12 in Intergrated Health Care Services of Slidell Rehab-ilitation Center. She is survived by one daughter, Roshanda Garrett of Folsom; two sons, James Garrett of Benton Harbor, MI and DeMarco Garret of Folsom; two sisters, Mae Helen Cole and Lillie Mae Stormer of Folsom; three brothers, Robert Garrett of New Orleans, New Land Garrett of Baton Rouge, and Jessie Garrett of New Roads; nine grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Visitation will be held today from 3-8 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton. A wake/funeral service will be held today at 7:30 p.m. at Midway Church of Christ Holiness (USA), 83359 Hwy. 25 Folsom, LA with Elder Leroy Divinity, Jr., pastor, officiating. A dismissal service will be held tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Folsom Community Cemetery. Janie H. Guileyardo (Died May 18, 2003) BOGALUSA n Janie H. Guileyardo, 88, a resident of Bogalusa, died yesterday in her home. She is survived by a sister, Mary Hodge of Shreveport; a niece, Mary Hastings of Caledonia, MS; five nephews, Tiney Guileyardo of Denham Springs, Manuel Guileyardo of Baton Rouge, Joseph Guileyardo of Dallas, Texas, Joe Hodge of Oklahoma, and Ron Hodge of Sherveport; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held today at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5:30-9 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held tomorrow at Annunciation Catholic Church at 3:30 p.m. Father Lawrence Phelps will officiate at the service. Interment will follow in Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa. Shirley Mae Quillen May (Died May 16, 2003) COVINGTON n Shirley Mae Quillen May, 62, a native of Bogalusa and a resident of Angie, died Friday in St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. She was an employee at the Bogalusa Social Security Office where she worked as a claims representative. She also served as a board member for the Washington Parish Council on Aging and was a member St. John Temple Church of God in Christ. She is survived by her husband, Harline May of Angie; two daughters, Vanessa (Tommy) Tyson and Petrina (Thomas) Hartley, all of Bogalusa; five sons, Julius Quillen and James (Jennifer) Quillen of Houston, Texas, Edwin Quillen of New Orleans, Eld. Malcolm (Vanessa) Quillen of Atlanta, GA, and Terence May of Angie; her mother, Willie Mae Quillen of Bogalusa; three grandchildren whom she was raising, Jennifer Courtney, and Ashley May; a great-grandson who she was raising, Harlan May; five stepchildren, Alice May Harry of Bogalusa, Lorraine (Michael) Sampson of Angie, Ellis May, Sylvester May, and Bobby Peters of Bogalusa; 27 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Josephine (Robert) Brewer of San Francisco, CA, Mary Jackson and Dr. Barbara (Eld. Oliver) Humbles of Baton Rouge, Carolyn (Jack) Wingo of Houston, Patricia (Wilton) Badon, and Gloria Quillen of Bogalusa; two brothers, Eld. Amel (Velma) Quillen and Fred (Susie) Quillen of Houston; a special brother-in-law, Monroe May Jr. of Angie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Amel Quillen Sr.; her grandfather, Joe Garner; and a stepdaughter, Dorothy May. A wake service will be held Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday at noon at St. John Temple Church of God in Christ, 1126 N. Roosevelt St., Bogalusa. Eld Bobby Ray Brown and Bishop Howard E. Quillen will officiate at the service. Bernice Thomas (Died May 17, 2003) FRANKLINTON - Bernice Thomas, 83, a resident of John Jackson Road in Bogalusa, died Saturday in Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton. Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.
