C. (Neal) Tullos, life-long resident of Bogalusa, passed away May 26th at 5:00 am (at Forest Manor Nursing Home in Covington, LA). Survived by: one daughter, Nealyne Tullos Gruettner of Covington; one son, Richard (Dick) Tullos of Monroe, LA; a son-in-law, Erwin Gruettner of Covington; 4 granddaughters: Cheryl Crain Ellison (Mrs. Brian) of Covington; Caryn Crain of New Orleans; Amy Tullos Evans (Mrs. Alan) of Shreveport; and Abby Grace Tullos of New Orleans and Monroe. Four great-grandchildren: Joshua Neal Gentry and Jordon Parker Gentry, both of Covington; Grace Elizabeth Evans and Hunt Alexander Evans of Shreveport. Mrs. Tullos was a graduate of Elizabeth Sullivan Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Bogalusa, LA. She was a registered nurse, and practiced for many years at Bogalusa Community Medical Center. Mrs. Tullos was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Bogalusa for over fifty years. Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was on 5/27/03 from 5:00 pm until 8 pm. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, 5/28/03 at 2:00 pm; burial followed at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of St. Tammany, or the First Baptist Church of Bogalusa. THOMAS C. EPPS, FRANKLINTON A resident of Franklinton died at 5 pm Wednesday at Riverside Medical as a result of an automobile accident near Folsom. He was a master sergeant at Washington Correctional Institution in Angie and a member of Sunlight Baptist Church. Survived by: Wife Barbara James Epps of Franklinton; 1 Daughter and son-in-law: Abby and Trent Penny of Franklinton; 1 Sister and Brother-in-law; Jackie and Joe Wild of Natchez, MS; 2 nieces and spouse: April and Roy Hill of Baton Rouge, Amy Wild of Jackson, MS; 1 Great-aunt Lillian Ruth Hardison of Huntsville, AL; Mother-in-law: Vanda Miller of Franklinton; Sister-in-law: Anita and Greg Patin of Baton Rouge; Niece and Nephew: Leigh and Eric Patin. Preceded in death by a daughter Angela Diane Epps and his parents John T. and Imagene Collins Epps. Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home from 4:30 pm until 9 pm Friday and after 8 am Saturday. A funeral service was held at 11 am Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sammy Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Sandy Morgan, Fred Mizell, Jr., Joe Wayne Sandifer, Troy Breland, Sammy Tynes, Charlie Morris. COLBY ALEXANDER SLAVEN Infant son of Andrea Slaven and Ronald Bordes went to be with God at 2:54 PM Wednesday at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Hermon: Rhelda Bordes of Folsom; Uncles and Aunts: Chris and Nicole Slaven of Jackson; Scott and Sheryl Slaven of Hammond; Tim and Shelia Bordes; Sam and Robin Bordes; Trecie Sands; Tiffany and Duane Madere all of Folsom; Cousins: Joshua, Gunner and Brielle Slaven; Jessica, Jordyn and Samuel Bordes and D. J.; Special Aunt and Uncle: Amy and Kyle McKinney of Mt. Hermon; Numerous other family and friends. Preceded in death by great grandparents Lena and Newt Slaven and Shelby and Lizzie Burch, Sr. Dr. Joe Baugh conducted a graveside service Saturday at 4 PM at the Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
