He was born in Rolling Fork, MS on January 3, 1933. He was the son of Ruth Perry Green and John Bailey Green. He was a member of Centenary Methodist Church of Franklinton and graduated from Tulane University in 1955 with a degree in Business Administration. He was a stock trader in the NYSE for Howard, Weil, Labouisse, Fredericks and Viquerie, Hayne & Chaffe in the late 50's & 60's. He returned to Franklinton in the early 70's. He also worked as a CASA volunteer for the past few years. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne White Green of Franklinton; three sons, Walter Reid Green Jr. and wife Lisa Forshag Green of Covington, Richard Wade Green of Safford, AZ, and Wesley Rutherford Green of Hammond; a granddaughter, Emily Green; two grandsons, William Green and Garett Green; a step-grandson, Bryce Dubois; and a sister, Harriet Wade Green of Baton Rouge. A memorial service was held at Centenary Methodist Church at 11 am on May 12, 2003. Memorials can be sent to Hospice of St. Tammany, 4410 Hwy. 22, Mandeville or Centenary Methodist Church, 1015 Cleveland St., Franklinton, LA 70438 Esther Mae Johnson Guidry, Raceland Esther Mae Johnson Guidry, 45, a native of Des Allmends and a resident of Raceland, died at 3:15 am Saturday, May 10, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Sterling J. Guidry, Sr. of Raceland; her mother, Mildred Johnson of Folsom; three sons, Adam Doucet of Franklinton, Clint Blanchard of Robert and Barry Blanchard of Slidell; ten stepchildren, April Rodrigue, Elena Paredes, Stephanie Matte, Felecia Robertson, Hazel, Tessie, Sterling A., Sterling V., and Sterling J. Guidry, Jr. all of Houma, Joseph Rogers of Ohio; four brothers, Sammie Johnson of Leesville, Daniel, Linny and Christopher Johnson all of Folsom; four sisters, Shirley Eshermin of Mt. Hermon, Verlie Bounds of Franklinton, Frances Kelly of Alabama and Kathy Brewer of Mississippi; six brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law; a granddaughter, Samantha Doucet of Franklinton; and seven step- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Lum Johnson Jr., and two brothers, Walter and Joelane Johnson. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home after 8:30 am Wednesday until time for funeral service at 11 am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ed Story officiating. Pallbearers were Hazel Guidry, Adam Doucet, Chris Johnson, Matthew Duncan, Sammy Johnson, Clint Blanchard and Barry Blanchard Jr. Interment followed in the Rainey Cemetery in Folsom Gracie Arlene (Biddix) Mahaffey, Baton Rouge Gracie Arlene (Biddix) Mahaffey, 89, a homemaker of Baton Rouge, LA went to be with her Lord Sunday, May 18, 2003 at Baton Rouge General. She was a longtime member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church, near Mt. Hermon and a beloved mother and grandmother. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Violet and J. D. Hunt of Kentwood and Gladys Arlene and Michael Foster of Baton Rouge; two step-daughters, Mary Belle Napier and Margie Day; two step-sons, C. T. and Roy Mahaffey; three grandchildren, Rose Hunt Marez and Mark and Moses Hunt: and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation was at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 from 10 am to 1 pm. Services were held at the funeral home at 1 pm. Interment was at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty, MS with a Commital Service was at 3:30 pm.
