The accident also took the life of her husband, Bolden Burch. She operated McClendon's Grocery for many years and was a member of Sunny Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and John Stevens of Franklinton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy F. and Nancy McClendon of Hot Springs Village, AR and Johnny and Gail McClendon of Franklinton; a sister, Evonne Rouse of Splendora, TX; eight grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill McClendon; a great-grandson, Billy Simms; also two sisters and a brother. Visitation was at the Crain Funeral Home from 6 pm until 9 pm Tuesday and after 8 am Wednesday. A funeral service was held at 11 am Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lionel Johnson and Rev. Sammy Smith officiating. Burial was in the Ellis Cemetery. Pallbearers who served also for her husband, Mr. Bolden Burch, were Ryan Schilling, Austin Schilling, Jeff Schilling, Brance Bridges, Tiger Folks and Rusty Stevens. Bolden D. Burch, 82, a resident of Franklinton, died at 8:10 pm Saturday, September 6, 2003 at the Riverside Medical Center of injuries received in an automobile that also took the life of his wife, Grace M. Burch. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Sunny Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by his step-children and their spouses, Dolores and John Stevens of Franklinton, Billy F. and Nancy McClendon of Hot Springs Village, AR and Johnny and Gail McClendon of Franklinton; 8 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar Burch of Brandon, MS; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was at the Crain Funeral Home from 6 pm until 9 pm Tuesday and after 8 am Wednesday. A funeral service was held at 11 am Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Andrew Griffith Johnson II, 61, a resident of Franklinton, died at 1 am Monday, September 8, 2003 at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans. He was an independent Insurance Agent and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: John Griffith and Kelley H. Johnson of Mobile, AL; two daughters and sons-in-law; Angela J. and Brad Bowman of Dallas, TX and Allison J. and Wes Thomas of New Orleans; eight grandchildren; Andrew, Caroline and John Bradley Bowman, Ella and Emma Grace Johnson, Griffith and Jacob Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, A. Griffith and Bobbie Burris Johnson. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 6 pm until 9 pm Tuesday. Visitation continued after 12 noon Wednesday at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the funeral service at 2 pm at the church with Dr. Gene Richards and Rev. Hal Hatten officiating. Burial followed in the Ellis Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to Hillcrest Baptist Church. William Edward "Bill" Penton, 83, a resident of Bogalusa died at 12:42 pm Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at his son's residence in Bogalusa. He was a member of Terrace Baptist Church and a retired route salesman of Bogalusa Coca Cola Bottling Company. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Alice Miley of Sheridan, Shirley and Evan Wilkes of Baton Rouge and Dianne and Bill Parker of Brandon, MS; six sons and daughters-in-law: Willie Jay and Brenda Penton, Eld. Edward and Shirley Penton all of Pine, Kenneth Ray and Jean Penton of Madisonville, Kelson and Valerie Penton of Franklinton, Billy and Rhonda Penton and Gary and Sherry Penton all of Bogalusa; 29 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Luzina and Delos Branch of Pine; a brother and sister-in-law, Edsel "Pete" and Mattie Penton of Angie; a sister-in-law, Ruby Taylor Penton of Pine; and a special friend, Cloyce Crain. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Pearl Bufkin Penton; and his second wife, Ruby Lee Tynes Penton; a son, Richard Dale "Ricky" Penton; a son-in-law, Cletus Miley; his parents, John and Mary Louise Penton; a sister, Edwena Brumfield; and four brothers, J. E. Wheat, Odine Penton, Wilson Penton and Ancil Penton. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 5 pm until 10 pm Thursday and after 8 am Friday. A funeral service was held at 11 am Friday in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Billy Ray Hines, Eld. Doyle Ball and Eld. Mark Hopgood officiating. Burial followed in the Nobles Cemetery. Pamela Ann Breland, 48, a resident of Hattiesburg, MS died Thursday, September 11, 2003 at her residence. She is survived by her mother, Ona Faye Thomas Breland; two brothers, Roy Keith Breland of Baton Rouge and Willie Elvis Breland of Hattiesburg; a sister, Dr. Brenda Faye Thomas of Hattiesburg; 4 nieces, 3 nephews; 5 great-nieces; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Breland; and her grandparents, Abner Elijah and Montoria Cooper Breland and Lucious and Rebecca Brock Thomas. Visitation was at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in Tylertown on Friday from 6 pm until 9 pm. A funeral service was held in the chapel of the funeral home at 10 am on Saturday with rev. Harold Gaddy and Rev. Lerand Hunt officiating. Burial was in the Thomas Family Cemetery. Doris C. Lyles, 71, a native of Yazoo County, MS and longtime resident of Franklinton, died at 8:00 am Saturday, September 13, 2003 at the Riverside Medical Center. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband: Edwin L. Lyles of Franklinton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Teri and Albert Tann of Franklinton and Peggy Lyles of Robert; five grandchildren, T. Michell Badeaux, Regina Barber, James Smith, Joseph Dykes and Joseph Tanner; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Badeaux, Abigayle and Kristy Barber; and a sister, Margaret Compton of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her parents, Travis George Compton and Margaret Collins Compton; three brothers; and three sisters. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home after 9 am Tuesday until time for the funeral service at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Percy Frazier and Rev. Lyndle Bullard officiating. A graveside service was held at 2:30 pm Tuesday at the Hollywood Cemetery in McComb. Pallbearers were James Smith, Joseph Dykes, Roger Barber, Blane Badeaux, Matthew Badeaux, and Albert Tanner.
