Hermon Alma Miller Schilling, 99, a longtime resident of Mt. Hermon and a resident of Heritage Manor in Franklinton, died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Riverside Medical Center. She was the widow of Albert Schilling and a member of the Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church. She is survived by five sons, Byron Schilling of Bogalusa, Paul Schilling of Zachary, Sam Schilling, Ronald Schilling and Jake Schilling all of Mt. Hermon; three daughters, Ginger Ellis of Columbia, Eloise Blazo of Baton Rouge and Elaine Vanhorn of Magnolia; a brother, Levon "Dock" Miller of California; 29 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Vandon and Lillie Watson Miller; a brother, Jewel Miller; and a sister Myrtha Quinn. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday. Visitation continued after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Hermon Pentecostal Church until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Randall Garcia and Rev. Gene Simpkins officiating. Burial followed in the Schilling Family Cemetery at Mt. Hermon. Pallbearers were Myron Schilling, Randy Schilling, Jeff Schilling, Perry Schilling, Scott Schilling and David Caves. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Hilda Eulaine Crokern Provost, Enon Hilda Eulaine Corkern Provost, 82, a resident of Enon, died at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, January 16, 2004 at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion United Pentecostal Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Hershe and Larry Oliver of Enon and Judy and Rev. Jerry D. Wheat of Rosenberg, TX; three sons and daughters-in-law, Allen W. and Ann Provost of Rosenberg, TX; Joseph E. and Karen Furguson of Hammond, IL and Garland B. Provost of Enon; 23 grand- children; 25 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Freeda and Melvin G. Remington and Wilda Myles all of Bogalusa; a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Ruth Corker of Metairie/Bogalusa; and a sister-in-law, Sarah Corkern of Baton Rouge. Also a host nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ethel E. "Eff" Provost; her parents, Murray Monroe and Priscilla Galloway Corkern; two brothers, Leroy T. Corkern and Carl M. Corkern; and a brother-in-law, Hayward Miles. Visitation was at Mt. Zion United Pentecostal Church on Lee Road in Enon from 2 p.m until 10 p.m. Monday and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday until time of service at 9 a.m. The Revs. Leon Hickman and Jerry D. Wheat officiated. Burial followed in the Spencer Cemetery. Crain Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Douglas Oliver, David Provost, Marcus Provost, Andrew Wheat, Gregory Wheat and JoeEd Provost. Honorary passbearers were Don Oliver, Mike Provost, Brad Wheat and Nathan Wheat. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thelma Passman Bond Bankston, Stoney Point Thelma Passman Bond Banksont, 84, a resident of Stoney Point community, died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2004 at Riverside Medical Center She was a member of the Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by husband, Chess M. Bankston of Mt. Hermon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Delton Kennedy of Franklinton and Jauan and C. B. Williams of Mt. Hermon; grandchildren and spouses, Delton, Jr. and Stephanie Kennedy, Deborah Kennedy all of Franklinton, and Raymond and Leslie Holmes of Mt. Hermon; 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bertha Lee O'Neal of Jackson, MS. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Brantley E. Bond and a foster son, Michael McClendon. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home after 9:30 a.m. Monday until time for the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Eld. James Broome and Eld. Brent King officiating. Burial followed in the Stoney Point Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kendall McDaniel, Oliver McDaniel, Stanley McDaniel, Scott McClendon, Brantley McClendon and Loyd Bankston. # # #
