He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and "The Just Older Youth" and worked for 38 years and eight months at Ethyl Corp. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He served as a cook and was known as "Frenchie" by his shipmates. He is survived by a daughter, Mercer Riche Brumfield and husband Ronald J. Brumfield; a granddaughter, Amy Diane Brumfield; a grandson and his wife Neale Lawrence and Lynette Brumfield; two great-grand- children, Michaela Davis and Gavin Neale Brumfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ada Watkins Riche; father Louis Jarvey Riche; mother, Mercedese Lemoiner Riche; a brother, Louis "Dad" Riche; three sisters, Corrine Ginn, Germaine Moore and Minnie Dixon. Visitation was a t Welsh Funeral Home in Baton Rouge on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Visitation continued from noon until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Thursday, celebrated by the Rev. Peter Hammett, O.S.B. Interment was in the Roselawn Memorial Park. A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, March 5, 2004 at 4 p.m. A reception will follow at the home of Mercer and Ron Brumfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, 1318 Bickham St., Franklinton, LA 70438 or the Methodist Home for Children, 815 Washington Ave., New Orleans, LA 70130. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jessie Lee Fussell Erwin, Franklinton Jessie Lee Fussell Erwin, 91, a resident of Franklinton, died at 11:58 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2004 at Heritage Manor in Franklinton. She was a member of the Fisher United Methodist Church and the widow of James Arnold Erwin. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Ben Jones of Franklinton; a grandaughter and spouse, Julie M. and Karl Bedsole of Shreveport; a brother, Aubrey Fussell of Baton Rouge and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jan Montgomery; her parents, J.C. and Bessie Stafford Fussell; brothers, Harold, James C. and Louis Fussell; and a sister, Velma Knight. Visitation was at the Crain Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lyndle Bullard officiating. Burial was in the Fisher Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joey Roberts, BJ Roberts, Robert Stafford, Larry Fussell, Earl Nelson and Bill Erwin. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert N. "Bobby" Burris, Franklinton Robert N. "Bobby Burris, 78, a resident of Franklinton died at 5 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2004 at Riverside Medical Center. He was a pharmacy technician employed for many years at Babington's Drug Store and most recently at Forshag Drugs in Franklinton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Latimore Passman Post 7196 of VFW. He was a member of the Franklinton First Baptist Church and the A.W. Robbins Sunday School Class. He was also a licensed watchmaker. He is survived by his wife, Keitha Casanova Burris of Franklinton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan Kevin and Melanie Burris of Mandeville and Richard Mark and Monika Burris of Wilmington, DE; a daughter, Kimberly May Burris of Franklinton; five grandchildren, Rachel Burris, Dustin Burris, Darin Burris, Douglas Burris and Brandon Close; and a sister, Helda S. Mayer of Colonia, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Burris and Gladys Bateman Burris Stafford. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday and after 11 a.m. Sunday. A funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jim Bain and Ben Morgan officiating. Burial followed in the Ellis Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dustin Burris, Darin Burris, Kirk Casanova, Karl Casanova, Keith Casanova and Randall Stafford. # # #
