All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ ** 07-22-1949 Many Attended Entrevia Funeral Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. for Andrew Entrevia, 60, one of Bogalusa’s best known and most active citizens who died on Monday at 6:10 a.m. at Desporte Clinic of a heart attack suffered Sunday. A large crowd was present for the service which was conducted by the Rev. Fr. Hubert Bordenave. Many beautiful flowers stood as evidence of the esteem in which the deceased was held by the city. Known throughout the city as “Hard Luck,” Mr. Entrevia came to Bogalusa from his birthplace, Donaldsonville, in 1906 to become one of the founders of the town. He was a pulpwood and logging contractor. He helped to build the Pine Tree Inn. Mr. Entrevia was always an active worker in both local and state politics. He was an ardent supporter of the present state administration and was a personal friend of Bolivar E. Kemp, attorney general. Mr. Entrevia is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mamie Bachio Entrevia, and 10 children, all of Bogalusa. The children are Mrs. M. C. Rester, Mrs. J. T. Drummond, Mrs. W. D. Steward, Philip, Robert Samuel, Angeline, Margie, Joyce, Johnny Joe, and Patsy Entrevia. Interment was in Ponemah Cemetery with Poole Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
