Maurice J. age 21, killed in airplane crash Saturday at Paducah KY. Son of Mrs. Anna L. Aucoin of Houston TX, nephew of Lamar Moody, Mrs. Lizzie Mercer & Mrs. Ida Walker & cousin of John M. Moody, all well known local citizens. Funeral was held in Houston. Crawford, Ervin, age 2 yrs. 8 mos, born at Bush LA, was killed Friday when he darted into the path of a truck. He was the only child of Mr/Mrs Creton Crawford. He is also survived by 3 grandparents; Mrs. A. Grantham & Mr/Mrs Tim Young of Bush, and aunt Mrs. Uell Holmes. Burial at Thomas Cem. between Bush & Talisheek. Brown FH in charge Gerlach, Anna of the New York Office of the Great Southern Lumber Co., was one of the 14 killed 2 weeks ago when an army bomber crashed into the Empire State Building in New York. Pigott, Dr. James Franklin, age 81, died Thursday at ESM Hosp. Survivors: widow the former Miss Janie Smith, 4 daus. Mrs. I. Marx, Bogalusa, Mrs. O. W. Knight & Mrs. David E. Kirkland, New Orleans, Mrs. J. H. Rester, Baton Rouge; 2 sons, Logan W. Pigott, Baton Rouge, James L. Pigott, Bremerton WA, 2 bros, Thomas E. Pigott of this community & William J. Pigott, Georgetown TX, 1 sister, Mrs. Laura Knight, Pine. 6 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren. Interment in Ponemah Cem. G. F. Poole in charge. Powell, Alton, Jr. {colored} age 6, son Alton & Ruby Powell, was accidentally shot Thursday, while playing "cowboy" with a group of other children. R. C. Cook FH in charge. Interment will be in the local colored cemetery. August 13, 1945 Thomas, Mack {colored} found dead in bed at his home in Angie, Tuesday. Death due to heart failure. Stringer {colored} 8 month old son of "Son" Stringer of Angie, died this week without medical treatment. August 25, 1945 Williams, Mathew, age 51, died Saturday of heart failure. Survivors: widow & 8 children. Interment in the Williams Cem. Brown FH in charge August 27, 1945 Israel, T. H., age 37, died suddenly Saturday in Lafayette, believed due to a heart attack. Survivors: father, Arthur Israel, Ville Platte, 5 bros. M. J. Israel, Bogalusa, Harry of Ville Platte, J. P. & A. Israel both of Ville Platte & Lee Israel of New York, 1 sister, Mrs. Lester Ardoin, Ville Platte. Funeral at Ville Platte. Peters, Joe, Jr., age 20, killed in action on Okinawa May 2nd. Survivors: widow the former Miss Bertha Simmons, parents, Mr/Mrs J. B. Peters of Jackson MS. A nephew of Tom Simmons. Robbins, A. W., age 84, resident of Angie, died Saturday at ESM Hosp., the father of 7 sons & 3 daughters. Born in Lawrence Co Ms, he resided in Wash. Parish some 60 yrs. Survivors: widow, daus, Mrs. Joe Eubanks, Bogalusa, Mrs. T. M. Sones & Mrs. Jessie Ford of Angie, sons, Carl & W.H. Robbins of Angie, E. H. & B. H. Robbins of Baton Rouge, S. W. Robbins of Monroe, R. R. Robbins of Houston & A. W. Robbins, Jr. in the South Pacific. He was a brother-in-law of W. E. Crain & A. C. Bankston & an uncle of Ab Robbins all of Boglausa. Interment in the Angie Cem, Brown FH in charge. Spiers, Gaston, age 44, single, died at his home in San Francisco CA, last Monday. A former resident of Bogalusa & brother of Mrs. Vincent Knight & Mrs. Sam Felts of Bogalusa, Mrs. June Boyett & Mrs. Ralph Richardson of Pearl River Station & Mrs. Otho Magee of Jackson MS, 2 bros, Ellis & Otis Spiers of Pearl River Station. Interment in Palestine Cem. near Picayune MS. G. F. Poole FH in charge. Stubbs, Collier L., age 49, single, died Friday in New Orleans Charity Hosp. Survivors: 9 sisters & 1 bro., Mrs. Jno. McNeese, Mrs. J. W. Strahan & Mrs. N. P. Smith of Bogalusa, Mrs. J. A. Crain & Mrs. J. M.
