M., age 55, died Sunday at Pearl River Station, due to a heart attack. He is survived by several children, but Allen Craddock is the only one residing in Bogalusa. Arrangements incomplete. Brown FH in charge. October 15, 1945 Fowler, O. P., age 66, died Saturday at ESM Hosp. He was born in Logansport, IN, but resided here for the past 35 years. Survivors: widow Mrs. Carrie Fowler, 1 son, G. E. Fowler, Toledo OH, 1 bro. M. L. Fowler, Minden LA. Interment in Ponemah Cem, G.F. Poole in charge. October 22, 1945 Odom, Mrs. Gene Ard, died Saturday in Pascagoula. Survivors: 1 dau. Mrs. Jewett Malone, Pascagoula MS, 1 son, Wayne, age 20 of Pensacola FL, 4 bros., a sister Mrs. Jewell Gill of Little Buffalo & also 4 other sisters. She was the daughter of Abram Ard of the Franklinton vicinity. Burial in the Corkern Cem, Poole FH in charge. Keaton, Thomas, died Friday of pneumonia in ESM Hosp. He was the son of Hurdy Keaton & grandson of Will Talley. Survived by widow the former Willow Crawford & a 3 1/2 months old daughter Janice Marie. He was born & reared in the Rio vicinity. Burial in the Sheridan Cem. near Rio, Poole FH in charge. Palmer, Frederick J., age 45, died Saturday at the Veterans Hosp., Hines IL. He was a former resident of this city & served 20 yrs. in the US Navy. He was born in NY. Survivors: widow Mrs. Leona Lee Palmer, 1 son William Palmer, Long Beach, CA, mother Mrs. Sadie Palmer, near Lumberton MS. Arrangements incomplete. G. F. Poole in charge. Simmons, W. E., age 87, of the Progress community, died at Tylertown hosp. His wife preceded him in death about 10 yrs. ago. Survived by 5 sons & 5 daus. One son, S. F. Simmons is one of Bogalusa's leading citizens. Burial in the Tylertown Cem. Williams, Mrs. E. H. (Lige), age 43 died at Shreveport on Thursday. She was a native of Clouterville, LA. Survivors: husband E. H. Williams, her mother, 3 sisters & 3 brothers. Mr. Williams was a frequent visitor to Bogalusa. October 29, 1945 Byers, David C, age 57, died suddenly at his home Friday following a heart attack. He was a native of Moss Point, MS but at resident of Bogalusa for 34 yrs. Survivors: widow Mrs. Nellie Rollins Byers, 2 daus. Mrs. Lucille Kain & Mrs. Maude Owen Wood & 4 grandchildren all of Bogalusa. 2 sisters, Mrs. Hugh Yankee, Jonesboro TN, Mrs. F. E. McClure, Birmingham AL, 1 bro. William Byers, Gillan, LA. Interment in Ponemah Cem, G. F. Poole FH in charge. McLain, Lura Burris, age 44, died Sunday, Oct. 28, at her home in Franklinton. Survivors: husband William Milton McLain, 3 children, Ora Mae, Lorella & William Alton McLain all of Franklinton. Newman, Earl, age 24, of Cross Roads, MS, killed Saturday in an automobile crash. The car driven by L. Phillips, crashed into the rear of a parked truck about 1/4 mile east of Cross Roads. Mr. Newman died at ESM hosp. a few minutes after admission. He was honorably discharged about 1 year ago from the US Army. Survivors: widow Mrs. Cleo Wascomb Newman, mother Mrs. Mary Newman, Cross Roads, 4 bros. Louis, Bogalusa, Murrell, of the US Army stationed at Camp Polk, LA, R. C. & Howard of Cross Roads; 4 sisters, Mrs. Winton Jenkins, Mrs. Moak Davis, Mrs. Rupert C. Hines all of Cross Roads & Mrs. Odis Creel of Franklinton. Interment Nobles Cem, McDonald FH of Poplarville in charge. Pigott, Mrs. C. E., wife of Dr. C. E. Pigott, former residents of Bogalusa, who moved to Colorado & later to California, will regret to learn of her sudden death in the bathtub of her home. Survivors: husband & 1 dau. Suzanne.
