He operated a service station for his son who is in the armed forces. Carros, Lt. George G., age 21, fiancée of Miss Annie Lawson, was killed when their aircraft crashed near Wedowee AL, Friday. The plane was based at Gulfport Field & Lt. Carros had spent the Labor Day weekend here & attended the ESM Methodist Church last Sunday. Chedotal, Mrs. Lucy Landry, age 67, mother of 6 children, died Sept. 3. One dau. was Mrs. Pete Cefalu. Funeral was held at Raceland LA, interment in the Catholic cemetery at Painvourtville LA. Clark Infant-twin girls were born to Mr/Mrs Emmer James Clark of Franklinton, Monday night. One died 4 hours later. Mother & other child are getting along well as could be expected. Cooper, Charles Ray, age 20, born near Franklinton, son of O. R. "Judge" Cooper, was killed in a traffic accident Sunday. He arrived home Saturday on leave from the Merchant Marines. He resided with his mother Erah Smith & grandparents Mr/Mrs Alonzo Smith. His paternal grandfather if Sam Cooper. Interment in the Hayes Creek Cem. north of Franklinton. Cutrer, Mrs. Joe, age 69, died Friday at Independence Hosp. She was the sister of Richard, Jessie & Bill Holden of Bogalusa. She resided near Hammond. Interment was in the Amite Cem. September 16, 1945 Browder, William Ernest, age 72, died Friday. Survivors: widow, son E. L. Browder, and 2 daughters who reside in Montgomery AL. Interment in Ponemah Cem, Poole FH in charge. Laird, Bobbie, age 17, killed in airplane crash Sunday. He was the adopted son of Mr/Mrs Earl Laird of Picayune. Mitchell, Joseph Martin, age 80, died Saturday in New Orleans. He was the father of Rev. Horatio Mitchell of New Orleans. His wife had died about 40 yrs ago & his sister "Aunt Mary" died a few months ago. Interment in the Pounds Cem, Poole FH in charge. Rosenbergh, Edward, pilot instructor from Elizabeth NJ, died in an airplane crash Sunday at the new Municipal Airport. A passenger, Bobbie Laird was also killed. The accident was witnessed spectators. Willoughby, F. C., age 79, died Monday in Bogalusa. Survivors: 1 son, Leslie J. Willoughby, 4 daus, Mrs. C. V. Herrington, Bogalusa, Mrs. Walter Foreman, Columbia MS, Mrs. Giles Rawls, Bowling Green KY, & Mrs. Ethel Boone, Tylertown. Poole FH in charge. September 24, 1945 Beal, James E., age 37, died Saturday in ESM Hosp, as results of burns sustained in the fire of Mackie Pine Products Co. of Covington. He was the 5th person to die. Remains prepared by Poole FH & sent to Covington The 4th person was Charles M. Travelbee of Folsom LA, age 67. He died Friday & remains were prepared & shipped to Golconda IL for burial. Lee, Bill, age about 40, died in a Chicago hotel Friday. Survivors: dau. Miss Billy Lee, Bogalusa, father, William Lee, Picayune MS, 2 sisters & 1 brother. Funeral in Picayune. Sibley, A. C., age 80, died at ESM Hosp. Sunday. He was the father of 7 children (6 surviving). He came from St. Landy Psh. in 1909. Survivors: widow, Harry of Jackson MS, Ray in the Pacific, Shelby of Bogalusa, A. M. of Georgia, Mrs. E. D. Brown of Minden LA, Mrs. D. R. Burch of Long Beach MS, & Riley died 19 years ago. Interment in McGehee Cem.
