Creel, 67, a resident of the Poplarhead Community died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday at the Riverside Medical Center (5 Oct 1997) He was a retired heave equipment operator for Crown Zellerbach and a member of the Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church where he served as church clerk for many years. Mr. Creel is survived by his wife, Delia McCain Creel of Franklinton; four daughters, Mrs. Michael (Peggy) Saucier, Cindy Creel, and Charlotte Creel all of Franklinton and Judy Narvaez of Slidell; one brother R.J. Creel of Franklinton; and four grandchildren, Nicholas Narvaez, Michelle Saucier, Vernon Saucier, and Ameliah Payne. He was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Jeni McCain Creel; a sister, Dorothy Rester, a daughter, Shirley Creel and a granddaughter, Amber Payne. Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Elders Willie J. Passman, Bobby Powell, and Glynn Erwin officiating. Burial followed in Poplarhead Church Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were Lloyd Chapetta, Larry Magee, Wilton McCain, Allen McCain, Jerry McCain, and Kendall Temples.
