"Porky" Boyt, 81, a resident of Bogalusa, died Wednesday in Bogalusa Community Medical Center. He was an inactive deacon at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, a 50 year mason, a member of the American Legion, owner of Boyt's Trailer Sales for many years, a member of the Good Sam's Club, and served in the United States Marine Corp. During World War II. Survivors include his wife, Gladys H. Boyt of Bogalusa; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Luther Boyt of Kansas City, MO, and David Lee and Nancy Boyt of Pigeon Forge, TN; a brother, Wilbur Boyt of Baton Rouge; a granddaughter, Vicki Vaughan of Austin, TX; and a grandson, Lestat Vaughan of Austin, TX. Thomas Obits for December 11, 2000 Gloria Crain Bolton (Died November 5, 2000) Gloria Crain Bolton, 76, a native of Bogalusa and daughter of the late Wilson E. and Delle Wilkes Crain died November 5, 2000 in the Santa Monica- UCLA Hospital following abdominal surgery and a heart attack. She was a 1941 graduate of Bogalusa High School and received her B.A. in education from Louisiana College in Pineville. She later pursued graduate work at the University of California-Los Angeles. A resident of Alta Loma, CA, she was an elementary school teacher for 40 years. Her first assignment in 1945 was in the Bogalusa City Schools. She later taught in Alexandria, New Orleans, Houston, TX, and for 17 years in Malibu, CA. She retired in 1984. The sister of the late Clifford Crain, she is survived by her husband, William C. Bolton of Alta Loma, CA; a daughter, Gloria Delle Colloff of Santa Monica, CA; a son, Cy Bolton Jr. of Monterey, CA; two granddaughters, Anya Colloff of Venice, CA, and Emily Colloff, a university student. A memorial service was hled Nov. 18, 2000 at the First Presbyterian Church in Upland, CA. On November 5 in a ceremony at sea attended only by her family, her ashes were spread over the waters of Santa Monica Bay. "Bruce" Broussard. She was born on October 5, 1941 in Bogalusa to Harold and Pearl Walker. Survivors include her loving companion, H.S. "Bruce" Broussard; her sons, Eric Boudreaux and his wife, Stephanie, and Harry Boudreaux and his wife, Beth; her daughter, Tina Greene and her husband, Dewayne; her sister, Billy Ray LeMaire and her husband, Jim; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Morrison and her husband, Terry Morrison; and her grandchildren, Devon, Chad, Kennedi, Cameron, Philip, Derek, Kyle, and Tyler. Her husband, Harrison Anthony "Tony" Boudreaux precedes her in death. "Coach Pat" Kenelly, 78, a native of Bogalusa and a resident of Hammond, died Tuesday morning in his home while preparing breakfast. He was a 1947 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and earned a master's of education degree from the University of Wisconsin. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Amite and the Livingston Lodge #160 in Hammond. At six-foot-five, he was easy to look up to in more ways than one. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II he returned to Southeastern Louisiana College where he was captain of the undefeated 1946 football team, named Little All-American, and was later drafted by the Chicago Bears. He began his coaching career at Bogalusa High School, then returned to Southeastern Louisiana University in 1949 and served as assistant football coach until he was named head coach in 1965. He also served as assistant football coach until he was named head coach in 1965. He also served as Director of Athletics at Southeastern Louisiana from 1971 until his retirement in 1976. Some of his greatest successes came as head of the Southeastern baseball program from 1951 until 1964, leading the Lions to five conference championships and twice earning Coach of the Year honors. Since his retirement, Coach Pat continued his loyal support of his alma mater through active involvement in various university committees and the Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni Association. He also served as a consultant for several years with a firm designing hospitals for cities throughout the U.S. He was a retired hospital administrator and had resided in Kennewick since 1990.
