He was a native of Kentwood, resident of Baton Rouge and veteran of World War II. Mr. Brumfield died at Riverside Medical Center, final rites were held December 13th, with interment in the Beulah Cemetery near Bolivar. Survivors are his wife, Bernice Addison Brumfield, two sons, three sisters, two brothers and a grandson. KEATING, Mabell, age 35, died January 1st in the Lallie Kemp Memorial Hospital in Independence. Interment was in the Hayes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, J. M. Keating, four daughters, two sons, her mother, Mrs. Loretha Burch, five step-brothers, and one step-sister. BRELAND, Ottis, age 67, died December 28th near his home in Bastrop. He was a former resident of Bogalusa. Interment was in the Christ Church Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Frances Breland, two daughters, his mother, Ophelia Breland, five brothers, three sisters, and four grandchildren. PASSMAN, Willie A., age 73. He was a former resident, now a resident of Route One Pearl River. Interment was in the Acey’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are four sons, two daughters, his stepmother, Mrs. J. A. (Rose) Passman, one brother, one half-brother, one sister, nineteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. JONES, Venson Elwood. He was a resident of the Midway settlement, three miles north of Folsom. He died December 27th at Ochsner’s Foundation Hospital. Interment was in the New Hope Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Gertrude Jones, three brothers, four sisters, and his step-mother, Mrs. Elvie Jones. 1-13-1972 THOMAS, Gordon, age 89. He was a native of Washington Parish and resident of Route Five Franklinton. He died January 5th at Riverside Medical Center. Survivors are his widow, Harriet Thomas, a daughter, five sons, twenty-two grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Interment was in the Thomas Cemetery. HUNT, Hubert, age 48, died January 8th at his residence on Route Five, Franklinton. Interment was in the Acey’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are four brothers and three sisters. FORREST, Mandy, age 85, died January 8th at her home in the Bethel Community. Interment was in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are one daughter, two sons, six grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. BLACKWELL, Elma, age 66, died January 5th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Maryetta Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, John Blackwell and a brother, William Taylor of Folsom. STAFFORD, Steve Ellis, age 94, died January 7th in Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the New Hope Church Cemetery. Survivors are five sons, two daughters, thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. STRAHAN, T. C., age 57, died January 8th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Strahan Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Gladys Sandifer Strahan, a son, a daughter, a brother, three sisters, and five grandchildren. STERLING, Minnie B., age 71, died January 9th at Heritage Manor in Franklinton. Interment was in the Magnolia Cemetery in Magnolia, Mississippi. Survivors are two sons, three daughters, nineteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. HOLLIDAY, Bob Lane, age 49. He was a resident of New Orleans and died in a trailer fire in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. 1-20-1972 COUCH, Jack W., age 50, died January 11th at Lallie Kemp Memorial Hospital in Independence. Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Edna Porter Couch, and two sons. 1-27-1972 WASKOM, Ansel F, Sr., age 66, died January 19th at his home in the Bonner Creek Community. Interment was in the Bonner Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are three sons, one daughter, one sister, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. RILEY, Chester Lorenzo, age 77, died January 19th at his home in the Crain’s Creek Community. He was a native of Mt. Hermon and lived in the Pine – Thomas Community. Interment was in the Crystal Springs Cemetery at Dexter, Mississippi. Survivors are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Herring Riley, one son, one brother, and two grandchildren. BRUMFIELD, Wiley Zeno, age 60, died January 21st in Riverside Medical Center. He was a resident of Route Five State Line Community. Interment was in the Carson Springs Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Hattie Freeman Brumfield, five sons, two daughters, two brothers, one sister, eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. GILL, James D., age 82, died January 18th in Jackson, Louisiana. He was a resident of Kentwood and a native of Washington Parish. Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Grace Gill, three sons, one daughter, three brothers, one sister, sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. MORRIS, Rosa Viola, age 88, died January 24th at Riverside Medical Center. She was a resident of the Spring Hill Community. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are a son, two daughters, two sisters, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. 1-27-1972 ATKINSON, Eugene L., age 64, died January 22 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. He was a native of Pride, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a veteran of World War II and was the husband of Jessie Miller Atkinson, a former Mt. Hermon resident and the daughter of Mrs. Fleet Miller. Interment was in the Resthaven Gardens of Memories. Other survivors are a sister, three brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. COSNER, William Lewis, age 76, died January 19th at Riverside Medical Center. He was a native of Newark, Ohio and was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Phillip Cosner. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Natalie Magee Cosner, a step son and step daughter. ALFORD, Lester C., age 55, died January 25th in the St. Tammany Hospital. He was a retired Chief Warrant Officer of the U. S. Navy and a resident of Route One Mt. Hermon. Interment was in the Bogue Chitto Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Estelle Dykes Alford, a daughter, step daughter and four grandchildren. 2-3-1972 MILLER, Shelley J. He was a resident of Route Four Zachary, and died June 30th at Lane Memorial Hospital in Zachary. Interment was in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Survivors are his widow, Rosetta Dykes Miller, a Son, two daughters, three brothers, a sister and six grandchildren. RICHARDSON, Georgia M., age 55, died February 1st in the Riverside Medical Center. He was a resident of Lona Rester Place in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Pounds Cemetery. Survivors are a son, a brother, and two sisters. MAGEE, Sarah Jane (Janie), age 80, died January 28th in Walthall County General Hospital. Interment was in the Hayes’ Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are three sons, a daughter, four brothers, and three sisters. TATE, Veda Booty, age 66, died January 27th at the Seventh Ward Hospital in Hammond. Interment was in the Beulah Cemetery at Bolivar. Survivors are five sons and five daughters. GATLIN, Annie P., age 68, died January 28th at the U. S. Public Service Hospital in New Orleans. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are a son, a daughter, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. 2-10-1972 BARBER, Enos, age 72 and resident of Route One Franklinton, died February 3rd at Walthall County Hospital in Tylertown. Interment was in the State Line Pentecostal Church Cemetery. Survivors are two sons, three daughters, three brothers, thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. CARRIERE, Millard F. He was a native of Franklinton and resident of Baton Rouge. He died February 6th. Interment was in the Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survivors are his widow, Mabel Anthony Carriere, two daughters, a sister, and four grandchildren. MCDANIEL, Allie C., age 79, died February 7th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Stoney Point Baptist Church Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elder T. W. McDaniel. Survivors are six sons, two daughters, three brothers, one sister, twenty-two grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. DANNER, Henry R., age 81. He was a retired Merchant Marine, and made his home on Route Three, Franklinton. He died February 6th at Riverside Medical Center. He is survived by a sister. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. MORGAN, Ruby Forest, age 70, died February 2nd at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Morgan. Survivors are one son, three daughters, a brother, two sisters, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. GREENLAW, Sarah Nell, age 82. She is a native and resident of Franklinton, and died February 5th at Heritage Manor. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Paul E. Greenlaw. Survivors are three daughters, one brother, one sister, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. MAGEE, Samantha Anna Leah, age 4 months, died in Mandeville on February 3rd. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Magee. Interment was in the Magee Cemetery. In addition to her parents, she is survived by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Mayfield and Mrs. Janice Myles. 2-17-1972 REEVES, Claude J., age 63 and native of Franklinton, died February 11th at his home in the San Pedro Community. Interment was in the San Pedro Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Ethel Toney Reeves, one daughter, two brothers and four grandchildren. LETCHWORTH, Genorah Spencer, age 88 and a native of Mississippi and former Bogalusa resident, died February 10th in the Dixie Memorial Hospital in Denham Springs. Interment was in the Spencer Cemetery near Enon. Survivors are four daughters, two sons, two sisters, two brothers, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. WALKER, Julia Ann, age 77, died February 11th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the State Line Cemetery. Survivors are four daughters, three sons, a stepdaughter, a stepson, a sister, a brother, thirty eight grandchildren and forty great grandchildren. MORGAN, Della Mae, age 69 and resident of Route Three Franklinton, died February 14th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the San Pedro Cemetery. Survivors are three sons, three daughters, one brother, three sisters and nineteen grandchildren. JONES, Rubie Corkern, age 65 and resident of Route Four Franklinton, died February 10th at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington. She is the wife of the late Otis A. Jones, a native of Washington Parish. Interment was in the Bonner Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are two daughters, four sons, two sisters, two brothers, sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Survivors are two sisters, a nephew, and two nieces. 2-24-1972 THOMAS, Ruffin Ray, age 51 and resident of Route Two Franklinton, died February 21st. He was a World War II veteran. Interment was in the Nobles Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Kathaleen Thomas, two sons, a daughter, three brothers, a sister and one grandchild. MAGEE, Fesser, age 47 and a former resident of Franklinton, died February 17th at his home in Violet. Interment was in the Old State Line Cemetery. Survivors are five sisters and a brother. SANDIFER, Elmer V., age 60 and resident of Route Four, Franklinton, died February 17th at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington. Interment was in the Blackwell Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Beulah Fussell Sandifer, three sons, three brothers, two sisters and four grandchildren. SMITH, Dr. Alvin G., age 83. He was a native of Wisconsin and practiced dentistry in Franklinton for fifty years. He died February 16th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Ruth Magee Smith, two daughters, three grandchildren, two brothers, and a sister. RAVENCRAFT, Frank Kenner, age 66 and native of Magnolia, Mississippi, a resident of Mt. Hermon, died February 19th at Washington St. Tammany Charity Hospital in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Midway Pentecostal Church at Mt. Hermon. Survivors are his widow, Lillie Waller Ravencraft, three sons, three daughters, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mance Ravencraft, sixteen grandchildren, a sister, and three brothers. Survivors are his widow, Grace Bahm Magee, two daughters, three brothers, a sister, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. MYLES, Mrs. Jimmie Reese, age 51, resident of Franklinton died February 19th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Magee Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, T. J. Myles, a son, a daughter, two brothers, and five sisters. DYKES, Lester Levon, age 22, died February 17th in New Orleans. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his mother, Richard (Nellie) Spencer, his father, Levon Dykes, and three sisters. CORKERN, Isaac W., age 87 and resident of Route Three Franklinton, died in New Orleans on February 22. Interment was in the Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Idell Sylvest Corkern, five sons, two daughters, three half brothers, grand children and great grandchildren. 3-2-1972 DYSON, Robert. He was a resident of Bickham Street in Franklinton and died February 25th between Bolivar and Tangipahoa. Interment was in Rapides Parish near Oakdale, LA. Survivors are eight sons, two daughters, three brothers, two sisters and one grandchild. ERWIN, Mrs. Carlos (Ira Mae). A native of Pinola County, Texas and a resident of Broussard Street. Religious rites were held at Rabenhorst Chapel in Baton Rouge. Interment was in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. She is survived by her husband and a brother. MAGEE, Jackson I., age 41, and resident of Route Three Franklinton, died February 28th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in Ellis Cemetery. He is survived by his mother, Maxie Stacy Magee. 3-9-1972 CRAIN, Alice J., age 89 and resident of Route Four, Franklinton, died March 3rd. Interment was in the Morris Cemetery in Franklinton. Survivors are two sons, three daughters, grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. MCELVEEN, Wade Martin, age 34. He was a former resident of Mt. Hermon and transferred from Norco, LA to Yazoo City, MS. Interment was in the Bogue Chitto Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by his widow, Ann Booty McElveen, a son, parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo McElveen and a sister. MARTIN, Rosetta Breland, age 71. She was a resident of Route Five Franklinton, and died March 3rd in the Walthall County General Hospital. Interment was in the Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Pine. Survivors are three sons, three daughters, one brother, four sisters, twenty six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. MURPHY, John, age 63. He was a former resident of Mt. Hermon and resident of Lafayette, died March 2nd. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, A’Mint Murphy, a step son, three grandchildren and four sisters. HALEY, Jessie R., age 72. He was a resident of Route Six Franklinton, and died March 7th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Hayes Creek Baptist Church. Survivors are his widow, Lucy Thomas Haley, three daughters, two grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters. 3-23-1972 CARTER, Aubrey. Misses Melba and Kathleen Carter of New Orleans visited Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Modez Carter. They also attended graveside rites on Saturday for their brother, Aubrey of Magnolia, who was buried at the Carter Cemetery near the Old Carter Home. These are the children of the late Elisha and Ora Kemp Carter, former Mt. Hermon residents. 3-30-1972 BRELAND, Ophelia Crain, age 85. She was a resident of Bogalusa and died March 24th at the Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Ponemah Cemetery. Survivors are five sons, three daughters, one brother, three half brothers, three sisters, twenty seven grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. KING, Winnifred Lane, age 44. She died March 24th at her home in Baton Rouge. Interment was in the Ponemah Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Dr. Ray R. King, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Lane, a daughter, a son, two sisters and a brother. SPEARS, Frances Creel, age 51. She died March 28th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Thomas Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Leslie B. Spears, five sons, two daughters, a sister, a brother, and eighteen grandchildren. SHERIDAN, Lillie W., age 75. She was a resident of Route Two Franklinton, and died at Riverside Medical Center on March 28th. Interment was in the Sheridan Cemetery. Survivors are three sons, two brothers, six sisters, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. LAGARDE, Mrs. Leonard. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Loving and son of Coushatta spent Tuesday with Mrs. Hallie Finch. Mrs. Finch attended the funeral for her sister, Mrs. Leonard LaGarde at McKneely Funeral Home Wednesday morning. Mrs. LaGarde was buried at the Hyde Cemetery at Chesbrough. BRELAND, Ophelia. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Bickham attended the funeral of their aunt, Mrs. Ophelia Breland in Bogalusa on Saturday. 4-7-1972 WOOD, Miss Thelma O., age 65. She was a native of Franklinton and resident of Lee Street and died on April 4th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in Magee Cemetery. Survivors are one brother, three sisters, nieces and nephews. ALFORD, Seth, age 58. He died at Baton Rouge General Hospital on March 28th. She was a resident of Mt. Hermon. Interment was in the Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Baton Rouge. Survivors are his widow, Myrtis Miller Alford, a daughter, two sons, four sisters, three brothers, and nine grandchildren. WEAKLY, Jesse Allen, age 86. He was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Port Royal, Tennessee, and formerly of Washington Parish. He died April 2nd at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. Interment was in the Resthaven Garden of Memory in Baton Rouge. Survivors are his widow, Bessie Brumfield Weakly, a son, a sister and two grandsons. 4-13-1972 MORRIS, Willie, age 83. Funeral services were held in Amite on Sunday. He was the oldest child of the late Oscar and Hester Stringfield Morris. He was the brother of Mrs. Ella Alford. 4-20-1972 SIMMONS, Udean Brock, age 57. She was a native of Mt. Hermon and a resident of Avenue D in Bogalusa. She died April 14th at the Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Elmer Simmons. Survivors are her daughter, one son, three grandchildren, four brothers and one sister. BURRIS, Nina Hood, age 80. She was a resident of Main Street, and died April 14th in the Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Preceded in death by her husband, Will J. Burris, she is survived by two sons, one daughter, one brother, four sisters, nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. SEAL, Samuel Wilton. He was a resident of Route Three Franklinton and a World War I veteran, died April 12th. Interment was in the Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are three sons, five daughters, one sister, twenty five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. HOLLIDAY, victory, age 82. He was a native of Mt. Hermon and a resident of the Spring Creek Community, died April 14th at Pike’s Memorial Hospital in Kentwood. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Ellen Holliday, two daughters, four sons, twenty one grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. 4-27-1972 JONES, Lannes, age 78. He died April 20th. Interment was in the Enon Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Gussie Green Jones, a son, a daughter, grandchildren and two great grandchildren. PENTON, John Wesley. He died April 19th near St. Rose, Louisiana. The U. S. Coast Guard continues the search for his body. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ancil Penton, five sisters and grandmothers, Mrs. Annie Taylor and Mrs. Louisa Penton. 5-4-1972 CROWE, Howard, age 71. He was a resident of Denham Spring, and died April 25th. Interment was in the Enon Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Freddie Miller Crow, a son, two daughters, a half brother, two sisters, a half sisters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. CRAIN, James Emeriah, age 70. He died April 26th at his home at Route 1 Varnado. Interment was in the Pine Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Losia Moore Crain, a daughter, four sons, three brothers, three sisters and eight grandchildren. PENTON, John. His body was discovered April 30th, where he drowned April 19th at St. Rose, Louisiana. Interment was in the Acey's Creek Church Cemetery. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ancil Penton, five sisters, grandmothers, Annie Taylor and Louisa Penton. 5-11-1972 ALFORD, Glenn, age 64. He was a resident of Mt. Hermon and died May 3rd in Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Clara Mae Burch Alford, his mother, Bessie Smith Alford, a son, three daughters, four brothers, three sisters and five grandchildren. ALFORD, Emma Bullock, age 80. Final rites were held on May 9th at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, with interment in the Bullock Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Bertie P. Alford, four sons, two daughters, thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. 5-18-1972 SMITH, Chester. He was a resident of the Mt. Nebo Community. He died May 14th at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. Interment was in the Sharon Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Verna Stafford Smith, three daughters, two sons, three brothers, a sister, twenty-three grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. EDWARDS, Luke Magee, age 85. He died at his home on Route Three Franklinton on May 15th. Interment was in the Magee Cemetery. He was the son of the late Walter Edwards and Mary W. Magee Edwards and the grandson of the late Dr. William L. Edwards. He is survived by a brother and two nephews. DAVIS, Sandford, age 59. He died May 10th at his residence of Route Three Franklinton. Interment was in the Stoney Point Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Mackie Givens Davis, a son, six daughters, two sisters, a brother, and seven grandchildren. THOMPSON, George McCloud, age 40. A resident of DeQuincy, Louisiana, died May 8th. Interment was in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Minnie Lou Miller Thompson, a daughter, and his mother, Mrs. George Thompson. 5-25-1972 EASLEY, Marvin H. He was a native of Hemphill, Texas and a resident of McComb, Mississippi. He died May 18th in a tractor accident. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Hazel Young Easley, a brother, two sisters, and nieces and nephews. MAGEE, Pearlie Beard, age 62. She died May 21st at the Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Magee, two daughters, two sons, three sisters, two brothers, two half brothers, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. FISHER, M. I., Jr. He died May 18th in a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Survivors are his widow, Virginia Studdard Fisher, three daughters, one son, four sisters, and one brother. Final rites were in Corinth, Mississippi. WELCH, William Louis. He died May 23rd at Riverside Medical Center. He was a resident o Franklinton. Interment was in the Morris Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Beulah Lee Welch, a son, two sisters, one brother, a sister, and four grandchildren. TAGEANT, Robert J., age 44. He was a native of Natchez, Mississippi, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and a resident of Franklinton. He died May 21st at Riverside Medical Center. Survivors are her husband, Euston V. Kemp, a son and a step daughter. 6-8-1972 YOUNG, John N., age 78. He was a native of Atlanta, Georgia and a resident of Franklinton and died June 6th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are widow, Ollie Abernathy Young, two daughters, two sons, two sisters, one brother, grandchildren and great grandchildren. HOLMES, William J., age 86. He was a resident of Route Three Franklinton, and died June 1st at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Stoney Point Baptist Church Cemetery. A resident of Route Four, Franklinton, died on June 4th at Beecham’s Hospital in Magnolia, Mississippi. Interment was in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Georgetown, Louisiana. She is survived by a son and a daughter. 6-29-1972 BOUTWELL, Herbert, age 46. He was a resident of New Orleans, formerly of Franklinton, died June 25th at East Jefferson Hospital in New Orleans. He was a former resident of Route Three Franklinton, and died June 24th at Heritage Manor. Interment was in the Stoney Point Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by numerous nephews and nieces. 7-4-1972 MAGEE, James Monroe, Jr. He was a resident of Morgan City, Louisiana, formerly of Franklinton. He was killed in an airplane crash near London, Ontario Providence, Canada on June 13th. He and a travel companion, Billy J. Booth of New Orleans, were both killed. Final rites were in Morgan City. Survivors are his widow, Ann Brownell Magee, three children, his mother, Mrs. Wilson Burch, of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of Franklinton, a sister, and several cousins of the Franklinton area. DURDEN, Lamar H., age 62. He died June 30th in McGehee Clinic. Interment was in the Morris Cemetery. He was a resident of Franklinton, and is survived by a brother, two sisters, four nieces and seven nephews. LOGAN, J. E., age 83. He died June 24th at Riverside Medical Center. He resided with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Frazier, and died July 7th by an accidental pistol shot inflicted at McElveen’s Store in Mt. Hermon. He was a native of Franklinton and resident of Jackson, Mississippi. He died July 16th. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. He was a resident of Lee Street in Franklinton, and died July 26th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Duncan Cemetery. The former State Senator was a resident of South Columbia Street in Bogalusa, and died December 22 in the Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Hillview Memorial Gardens.
