Hermon was killed in a car accident on Christmas Eve. Interment was in the Bogue Chitto Baptist Church Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his father, the late Robert Miller. Survivors are his widow, Virginia Murrell Miller, two daughters, his mother, one brother and one sister. Fornea, Alberta T., age 72. A native of Washington Parish and a long-time resident of Varnado died December 28th in the Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Fornea Cemetery in Varnado. Survivors are her husband, Curtis J. Fornea, a half sister, a half brother and stepmother, Edna McElveen Thigpen. 1-9-1975 Holton, Mrs. Grady (Verda), age 68. A resident of Hugo, Oklahoma died January 1st in the McCustion Hospital in Parish, Texas. Interment was in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Hugo. Survivors are two daughters, one daughter, Mrs. Ed (Barbara) Wareham of Franklinton, two sisters, a brother and six grandchildren. 1-16-1975 Magee, Ollie, age 69. She died January 10th in the Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Old State Line Cemetery. Survivors are two sons, two daughters, three sisters, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Doyle, F. C. Jr. He died January 7th at his home in Baton Rouge. Interment was in the Alexandria Memorial Garden. Hughes, H. B. (Shorty) Sr., age 72. A resident of Franklinton died January 11th in the Walthall County General Hospital in Tylertown. Interment was in the Sunlight Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Exie Wallace Hughes, one son, three sisters and four grandchildren. Creel, Alonzo F., age 83. A former Franklinton resident died January 6th at the St. James Parish Hospital in Lutcher. Interment was in the Fisher Cemetery. Survivors are two sons, one brother, three sisters, and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. McClendon, William Herman, age 62. A native of Tangipahoa Parish died January 9th in Walthall County General Hospital in Tylertown. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Mt. Hermon. Survivors are a brother, his widow, Myrtle Bankston McClendon, two daughters, one son, three sisters and seven grandchildren. 1-23-1975 Brannan, Rhody. He was from Ozark, Alabama. Interment was in the Green Lawn Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama. His son, Mr. Sherry Brannan received message on January 6th notifying him of the death of his father. Cone, Pearl, age 90. A resident of 10th Avenue died January 16th at Heritage Manor. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, M. S. Cone. Survivors are one son, two daughters, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Montgomery, Nannie Lou, age 54. A resident of 12th Avenue died January 17th at her home. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Raiford Montgomery, one daughter, one son, three brothers, one sister and three grandchildren. Magee, Jewell M., age 76. He was a resident of Franklinton and died January 21st at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Lena Bennett Magee, one daughter, two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Brock, Leslie, age 67. A resident of rural Tylertown, Mississippi died January 16th. Interment was in the Tylertown Cemetery. Survivors are three daughters, two sisters, stepmother, Mrs. Wayne C. (Mattie Brock) Curry , widow of the late Dr. F. W. Brock of Bogalusa. Dedon, Ollie, age 69. A native of Mt. Hermon died January 17th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Tessie Miller Dedon, two daughters, three sons, eighteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters. 1-30-1975 McDonald, Martha Vera Gerald. A resident of Pine died January 23 in an automobile accident. Interment was in the new Gerald Cemetery. Survivors are two sons, five daughters, two brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren. Myles, Ambus I., age 77. He died at his home in Franklinton on January 26th. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Effie Forrest Myles, one son, three daughters, one brother, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Green, John Bailey, age 69. A resident of Franklinton died January 23rd at Ochsner’s Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Ruth Perry Green, one son, one daughter, two brothers, two sisters, six grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Jenkins, Iris, age 36. A resident of Franklinton died January 27th. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, W. D. Jenkins, two sons, one daughter, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Passman, three brothers and one sister. 2-6-1975 Riley, Charles C., age 79. A native of Waynesboro, Mississippi and resident of Jackson died January 31st. He was a World War I Veteran. Interment was in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Zoe Fendlason Riley, stepfather, Turner Bairefield, step brother, step sister and nieces and nephews. Polkey, Lee L., age 67. A resident of Route Four Franklinton died February 2nd. Interment was in the Garden of Memories in Metairie. Survivors are his widow, Louise Nation Polkey, seven sons, one daughter, two brothers, two sisters, nineteen grandchildren. St. Cyr, Odelia, age 86. A resident of Mabank, Texas died January 30th in Kaufman, Texas. Interment was in the Fisher Cemetery. He is survived by nieces and nephews. 2-20-1975 Schilling, Delos E., age 63. A resident of Mt. Hermon died February 13th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Elmer Painter Schilling, four sons, two daughters, one brother, three sisters and eleven grandchildren. 2-27-1975 Pierce, Bertha, age 78. A native of Franklinton and resident of Main Street died February 24th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Magee Cemetery. Survivors are a brother and a sister. Stafford, Archie, age 78. A native of Franklinton and a resident of Main Street died February 20th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Fisher Cemetery. Survivors are three brothers and five sisters. Seal, Maude, age 85. A resident of Franklinton died February 21st at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Canaan Cemetery. Survivors are one daughter, six grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gerald, James Edward, age 76. A resident of Route Five Franklinton died February 1st at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Gerald Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Cynthia Martin Gerald, six sons, one daughter, three brothers, two sisters, fourteen grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Foil, Alvin Luther, age 62. A resident of Franklinton died February 19th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Foil-Springfield Cemetery. Survivors are his mother, Mima Simmons, three brothers and one sister. Bateman, Lucious, age 84. A native of Washington Parish and resident of Beall Avenue in Bogalusa died February 19th in the Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Ponemah Cemetery. Survivors are one son, one daughter, one brother, four sisters, one grandson and one great-grandchild. 3-6-1975 Stubbs, Mrs. Theodore (Beulah), age 72. A native of Mize, Mississippi and a resident of Magee, Mississippi died February 28th in Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Interment was in the Sharon Cemetery. Survivors are six brothers, two daughters and five grandchildren. 3-13-1975 Byrd, Vincent, age 62. A resident of Franklinton died March 8th in Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Byrd- Letchworth Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Marjorie Byrd, three sons, one daughter and one sister. Haley, Fleet L., age 73. A resident of Route One, Franklinton died March 7th at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. Interment was in the Haley Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Dixie Thomas Haley, four sons, eight daughters, two brothers, three sisters, thirty four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. 3-20-1975 McKnight, Rev. Alton A. A retired minister he had pastured the Fisher Methodist Church and other Methodist churches in the parish where he was pastor include Mt. Hermon, Angie and Varnado. He died in Rayville and former resident of Franklinton. Graveside rites were held at Fisher Church Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Mary Daniel McKnight, one son, four grandchildren, three brothers and one sister. Burch, Robert Reid, age 84. A native of Washington Parish and former Franklinton resident died March 11th at Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was a resident of Houston for the past five years and was a World War One Veteran. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are one son, one daughter, three sisters and three grandchildren. 3-27-1975 Slaven, Newton Q., age 78. A resident of Route One, Mt. Hermon died March 21st at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington. Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Lena Slaven, four sons, two daughters, one sister, nineteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. 4-3-1975 Thigpen, Mrs. M. A. (Edna), age 86. A resident of Franklinton died March 26th at Heritage Manor. Interment was in the Enon Cemetery. Survivors are one son, one daughter, one sister and three grandchildren. 4-10-1975 Knight, Nora Lee, age 59. A native of Franklinton, who has resided in West Monroe for seventeen years died April 1st at Glenwood Hospital in Monroe. Interment was in the Morris Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Alvin P. Knight, one daughter, two sons, two sisters, six brothers and seven grandchildren. 4-17-1975 McDaniel, Carolyn Ann Bankston, age 30. A native of Washington Parish died April 9th from an explosion that practically destroyed the home and contents of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick McDaniel. Interment was in the Stoney Point Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Patrick C. McDaniel, two sons, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dudley James Bankston, one brother and one sister. Richardson, John P., age 75. A native of Franklinton died April 12th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Katherine Varnado Richardson, one son, two daughters, two brothers, three sisters and nine grandchildren. 4-24-1975 Martin, Clydie James, age 67. A native of Walthall County, Mississippi died April 17th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Sunlight Baptist Church cemetery. A resident of Franklinton, he is survived by his widow, Bertie Luper Martin, two sons, three daughters, two brothers, one sister, eleven grandsons and two great grandchildren. Shedd, Annie Wooten, age 60. A resident of Clifton died April 17th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Joe G. Shedd, one son, one daughter, three brothers, three sisters and ten grandchildren. 5-1-1975 Bennett, William C. (Bill), age 71. He died April 23rd at St. Paul’s Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are one son, one daughter, two sisters and three grandchildren. 5-8-1975 McCain, Murphy J., age 84. A long-time resident of rural Franklinton died April 30th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Morris Cemetery. Survivors are one son, two sisters, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Crain, O. Pope, age 81. A native and resident of rural Franklinton died May 1st at Bill-Dora Nursing Home in Tylertown, Mississippi. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are one son, three daughters, two brothers, three sisters, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Fornea, Joseph R., age 88. A resident of Varnado died May 1st in the Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Old Fornea Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Linnie Fornea, eight sons, three daughters, six grandchildren and forty-six great grandchildren. Seal, Murray L., age 74. A resident of Washington Street died May 4th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Myrtle Husser Seal, one son, two daughters, five brothers, three sisters, stepmother, Lucy Sullivan, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Cotton, Simon Jefferson (Cooter), Jr., age 16. He died in the center of Franklinton’s business section on May 4th. Interment was in the Turnage Chapel Cemetery in Foxworth, Mississippi. Survivors are one brother, five half-brothers and five sisters. 5-15-1975 Corkern, Doyle “Rusty”, Jr., age 23. He was apparently electrocuted by a high-tension cable above the rain-swollen Bogue Chitto River, where he was floating down the river in a boat. The body was recovered near the Enon Bridge. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Corkern. Interment was in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. He was a native of Enon. He is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Gordon Carter. Crain, Willie T., age 70. He died May 10th at the Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Pine Community Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Sudie Crain, one son, three daughters, four brothers, five sisters, his father, Shird Crain, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Creel, Cicero L., age 85. He died May 8th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Fisher Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Bessie Welch Creel, two sons, two daughters, three sisters, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Smith, Clyde, age 60. A Mt. Hermon resident died May 10th at the Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Survivors are his widow, Johnnie Mae Smith, five sons, one daughter, one sister and eight grandchildren. Interment was in the Bogue Chitto Baptist Church. Smith, Willie, age 76. He died May 9th at his home in Warnerton. Interment was in the Warnerton Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Nancy Smith, one daughter, one son, two stepdaughters, two stepsons, three grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. 5-22-1975 Husser, Miss Iva A., age 65. She died May 18th at her home on Route Three Franklinton. Interment was in the Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are one brother, three sisters and numerous nephews and nieces. Jenkins, Myford H., age 74. He died May 19th at his residence on Route Four. Interment was in the Bulloch Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Ollie Thomas Jenkins, one son, one daughter, one brother, one sister, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 5-29-1975 Ellzey, John Edgar, age 89. A resident of Route Two, Franklinton died May 22nd in Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Smith Cemetery at Sheridan. Survivors are his widow, Lorine Tullos Ellzey, one son, one daughter, three brothers, two sisters, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Fussell, Brian Allen. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Fussell died May 24th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Fussell Cemetery in Franklinton. In addition to his parents survivors include his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Fussell and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lewis. Ott, David Jackson, age 41. A native of Fort Worth, Texas, he died May 19th at his home in Worcester, Massachusetts. Survivors are his widow, Attiat Ott, two daughters, one brother and three sisters. Interment was in the Ott Cemetery beside his grandfather whose name he bears. Seal, Charlie S., age 77. He died May 22nd at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Seal Cemetery. Preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Hobgood Seal, two sons, six daughters, twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. 6-12-1975 Primes, Estus, age 49. He died June 17th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Nobles Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Patsy Barber Primes, one son, three daughters, five brothers, two sisters, and three grandchildren and an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Ander Spears. 6-19-1975 Provost, Frank Hardy, age 68. He died June 15th in Veterans’ Hospital in New Orleans. Interment was in the Spencer Cemetery. Survivors are three sisters and three brothers. Davenport, William Miley (Bill), age 77. A long-time Franklinton resident died June 15th at Riverside Medical Center. He was born in Morton, Mississippi on November 4, 1897. He was a World War One veteran. Survivors are his widow, Clara Schmaltz, four daughters, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one sister. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Bond, Martina Penny, age 95. She died June 12th in Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Stoney Point Cemetery. Survivors are three sons, five daughters, three sisters, 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. 6-26-1975 Corkern, Clyde C., age 66. He died June 19th at his home in the Enon Community. He was a World War II veteran. Interment was in the Enon Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Louise Hall Corkern, one daughter, two brothers, four sisters and two grandchildren. Stevenson, Mrs. A. G. (Gladys). A Franklinton native and resident of Baton Rouge died June 18th at Baton Rouge General Hospital. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, A. G. (Bert) Stevenson, one daughter, one son, nine grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers. 7-10-1975 Edwards, James Arnold, age 77. A resident of Washington Parish died July 4th in Veterans’ Hospital in New Orleans. Survivors are one son and one grandson. Interment was in the Magee-Bahm Cemetery. Simmonds, W. D. Of Memphis, Tennessee and husband of a former Franklinton resident, Virginia Magee Simmonds died Monday afternoon. In addition to his widow are two sons. 7-17-1975 Creel, T. J., age 70. A resident of Franklinton died July 12th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Nobles Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, three sons, five daughters, three brothers, two sisters and seventeen grandchildren. Spears, Mary Ella, age 88. A resident of Pine died July 13th in the Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Nobles Cemetery. Survivors are three sons, two daughters, four stepchildren, thirty grandchildren and fifty-seven great grandchildren. Taylor, Della Thomas, age 71. A resident of Route Five Franklinton died July 11th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Thomas Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Taylor. Survivors are one daughter, three brothers, one grandson, one great granddaughter and four great, great grandchildren. 7-24-1975 Bennett, Hulon, age 69. A resident of Route One, Mt. Hermon was killed in an automobile accident of July 22nd. Interment was in the Midway Pentecostal Church Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Mae Bell Bennett, six daughters, four sons, one sister, one brother, thirty-two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Magee, Woodrow, age 55. A native and resident of Franklinton died July 21st at Veterans Hospital in New Orleans. Interment was in the Springhill Cemetery. Survivors are two sons, one daughter, three brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren. Spencer, Albert W., age 60. A resident of the Enon Community died July 22 at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Spencer Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Lela Miley Spencer, one son, one daughter, three brothers, four sisters and three grandchildren. Wallace, Thornton, age 81. A native of Washington Parish and resident of Watson died July 15th at Dixon Memorial Hospital in Denham Springs. Interment was in the Wallace Cemetery (near the Canaan Community). Survivors are two daughters, three sisters, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. 7-31-1975 Finkelstein. Tommie J. Finkelstein age 33, Edna Beth Moss Finkelstein age 30, Elizabeth Anne Finkelstein and an unborn son was killed in an automobile accident on July 11th in Springfield, Virginia. Interment was in Calvary Memorial Park, Fairfax County, Virginia. Adams, Chancy, age 66. A resident of Pine died July 23 at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Noble Cemetery. He was preceded in death b a son, Larue Adams. Survivors are his widow, Lela Mae Adams, one son, one daughter-in-law, two brothers, five sisters and three grandchildren. Brumfield, Mrs. Arnold (Darvis M.) age 47. A resident of Route One, Franklinton died at her home July 29th. Interment was in the New Brumfield Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Arnold J. Brumfield, two sons, one daughter, six brothers, four sisters and stepmother, Ruth Sorrell. Chaney, Rev. Elwyn B., age 63. A former pastor of the Franklinton Centenary United Methodist Church died July 16th at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Graveside rites were conducted in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Survivors are his 2 sons, widow, Mrs. E. B. (Margaret) Chaney, one daughter and three sisters. Miller, Margaret Elizabeth (Lizzie), age 83. She died July 26th at Heritage Manor in Franklinton. Interment was in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Preceded in death by her husband, Avarice Miller. Survivors are three sons, a stepson, three daughters, a stepdaughter, three sisters, twenty eight grandchildren and thirty seven great grandchildren. Thomas, Letha L., age 74. She died at her residence in Bogalusa on July 22nd. Interment was in the Thomas Cemetery at Thomas. Survivors are four sons, one daughter, two brothers, two sisters, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Thompson, Madeline Magee, age 64. A resident of Columbia, South Carolina died July 23rd at the home of her brother and Mrs. Robert E. Magee while she was in Franklinton to attend the funeral of her brother, Woodrow W. Magee. Interment was in the Edgewood Memorial Park. Preceded in death by her husband, Joe Thompson, she is survived by three sons, one daughter, three brothers, one sister and eight grandchildren. 8-7-1975 Miller, Milford. He died in Ft. Worth, Texas on August 2nd. Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Survivors are brothers and sisters. Barrett, Aletha Foil, age 56. A native of Franklinton and resident of Alexandria, La. died July 31st in St. Francis Cabrini Hospital. Interment was in the Alexandria Memorial Gardens. Survivors are her husband, Thomas W. Barrett, one daughter, three grandchildren, one brother and three sisters. She is the daughter of the late Alice R. and George W. Foil, Washington Parish Pioneers. Fendlason, Tena S., age 85. A native of Franklinton and long- time resident of Baton Rouge died August 3rd in Baton Rouge General Hospital. Interment was in the Fisher United Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Daniel Harrison Fendlason, two sons, four sisters, three brothers, one granddaughter and one great grandson. Miller, Milford, age 64. A native of Washington Parish and resident of Forth Worth, Texas died in Forth Worth Hospital August 2nd. Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. He was a former pastor of Franklinton Centenary and Fisher United Methodist Churches. A resident of Franklinton died August 1st at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Magee Cemetery at Lawrence Creek. Preceded in death by a daughter, Iris P. He was a pastor of Main Street Church in Bogalusa. He died August 10th. Interment was in Hillview Memorial Gardens. Survivors are his widow, three sons, 2 sisters and four grandchildren. McCain, Alma, age 66. She died August 7th at Riverside Medical Center. The only survivor is a half brother, Howard Crockett. Interment was in the Poplar Head Cemetery. Provost, Jesse James, age 59. A resident of the Enon Community died August 6th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Spencer Cemetery. Interment was in the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Wilkie Seal Creel, two daughters, three brothers and six sisters. Wales, Clifton Lee, age 63. A resident of Franklinton died August 14th at his home on Route Four. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Lois Tyler Wales, four sons, two brothers, six sisters and ten grandchildren. 8-28-1975 Pittman, Jenette Reese. A resident of Franklinton died August 24th at Ochsner’s Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. Interment was in the Morris Cemetery. A resident of Sun died September 8th in the Washington St. Tammany Hospital in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Jenkins Cemetery. A resident of Franklinton died September 4th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are three sons, one daughter, six sisters, eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Ringel, Inez Zander, age 76. A native of New Orleans and resident of Franklinton died September 4th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are a daughter, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Simmons, Hilton J., age 81. A resident of rural Franklinton died September 7th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Lannie W. Simmons, one son, one daughter, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Stafford, Bertha M., age 76. A resident of Enon died September 6th at Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. Interment was in the Enon Cemetery. Survivors are two daughters, one sister, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Williams, M-Sgt. Bobby L., age 44. He died September 5th at Keesler Air Force Base Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was a resident of Franklinton and retired U. S. Air Force officer. Interment was in the Passman Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Leatrice Williams, one son, two daughters, one brother, one sister, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Williams and one grandchild. 9-18-1975 Rogers, Emeriah, age 74. A resident of Pine died September 10th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Pine Community Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Frances C. A resident of Covington died September 25th. Interment was in the Covington Cemetery No. 1. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lindsey W. A resident of Route Two Franklinton died October 4th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Poplar Head Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. She died October 1st at her residence in Felixville, La. She was a native and life-long resident of East Feliciana Parish. Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery in Clinton. He was a 1920 graduate of Franklinton High School. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Melissa A. Foil, a son, a sister and one grandson. Smith, Andrew Jasper, age 75. A resident of the Hayes Creek Community died October 12th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Wilma M. Smith, one daughter, three brothers, three sisters and four grandchildren. Verger, Sherwood, age 54. A native of Folsom and resident of Renton, a suburb of Seattle, Washington and a veteran of World War II (USMC died October 7th. Interment was in the Folsom Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Peggy F. Verger, his mother, Mrs. Virgil (Inez) Verger, a brother and 2 sisters. Vogt, Lenny. A retired principal at Thomas High School died upon arrival at Walthall County General Hospital in Tylertown, Mississippi on October 7th. He was a native of New Orleans. Interment was in the Thomas Mausoleum at Thomas. Survivors are his widow, Mevoline Thomas Vogt, one daughter, three sons, one sister, one brother and two grandchildren. 10-23-1975 Barber, Myrtle, age 63. A resident of Franklinton died September 18th at McGehee Clinic. Interment was in the Acey’s Creek Cemetery. She was the widow of the late Collins Barber. Survivors are one son and five daughters, brothers, three sisters, twenty-one grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Hood, Arthur E., age 82. He was a life-long resident of Amite and died October 14th. Interment was in the Amite Cemetery. He was preceded in death by a son. Survivors are his widow, Bessie Burris, one son, three daughters, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Magee, Clyde Jared. This news item appearing in the October 8th Pampa Daily News, Pampa, Texas pertaining to a Franklinton native. Funeral services are set for Thursday in McLean. Mr. Magee age 66 died Monday. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. He was born in Franklinton and moved to McLean from Baton Rouge. He married Ruth Hess in 1936. Survivors are his widow, one son, three daughters, two brothers, one sister and five grandchildren. 10-30-1975 Bateman, David J. (Buster), age 65. He died October 25th at his resident in the Springhill Community. Interment was in the Magee Cemetery at Springhill. Survivors are his widow, Doris E. Bateman, two sons, one sister and four grandchildren. Mosher, Jack B., age 73. A former Franklinton resident died October 19th at Plumas District Hospital in Quincy, California. He was a long-time resident of California. Interment was in Crescent Mills Cemetery. He never married and the only survivors are two sisters. 11-6-1975 Matherne, Dr. Nola J., age 59. A resident of Baton Rouge died October 17th at Baton Rouge General Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II. Interment was in Resthaven Garden of Memories. Survivors are his widow, Vera Dugger Matherne, his father, F. J. Matherne, one son, six daughters, one sister and one brother. Brooks, William E., age 78. A native of Franklinton and long-time resident of Baton Rouge died October 13th in the Baton Rouge General Hospital. Interment was in the Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survivors are his widow, Ada Dowdell Johnson, two sons, two sisters and four grandchildren. He was a World War I veteran. Bateman, Robert H., age 69. A native and resident of Franklinton died October 29th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Sadie S. Bateman, three sons, four sisters and four grandchildren. Magee, Lena J., age 74. A resident of Route One Franklinton died November 2nd at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Magee Cemetery at Lawrence Creek. Preceded in death by her husband, Union M. Magee, she is survived by three sons, one sister, one brother, twenty- four grandchildren and thirty-seven great grandchildren. Mowdy, Annie, age 73. A resident of Union, Mississippi and mother of Franklinton resident, W. C. Mowdy, died October 27th at Laird Hospital in Union. Interment was in the Besidahia Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Gershon Mowdy, three sons, four daughters, twenty-seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Passman, Earnestine Crowe, age 89. A resident of Franklinton died October 29th at the residence of her son in Pride. Interment was in the Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are her husband of seventy- two years, Fred A. Passman, seven sons, four daughters, twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Toney, Percy, age 77. A former Franklinton resident died October 26th at his home in Augusta, Georgia. Interment was in the National Hills Cemetery. Survivors are one son, one daughter and six grandchildren. He died November 22nd at Lallie Kemp Hospital in Independence from an automobile accident near Amite. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. A resident of Route 5 Franklinton was killed in an auto accident on Highway 10 on November 23rd. She was the daughter of Mrs. Roy Lilly and William Baker Sr. 12-4-1975 Campo, Tony V., age 65. He died November 30th at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. He was a native and resident of Amite. Interment was in the Amite Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Lillie Catalanotto Campo, two sons, a daughter, five brothers, one sister and two grandchildren. 12-11-1975 Bankston, Mrs. Johnnie O. (Myrtis), age 78. A resident of Mt. Hermon died December 4th while she was living at the Bill-Dora Nursing Home in Tylertown, Mississippi. Interment was in the Bankston Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Johnnie O. His body lay in state at the McNeely Funeral Home in Amite. A resident of Bogalusa died December 16th at Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Ponemah Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Mabel R. Knight, one son, one daughter and six sisters. Tisdale, Edith Wood, age 78. A native of Franklinton and long-time resident of Bogalusa died December 11th at Community Medical Center in Bogalusa. Interment was in the Magee Cemetery on the Covington Highway. Survivors are her husband, C. D. Tisdale, one son, two sisters, one brother and two grandchildren. 12-25-1975 Barber, Cleve, age 91. A resident of rural Franklinton died December 21st at the residence of Wilber Barber. He is survived by forty-two descendants, which includes seven sons, four daughters, two brothers, thirty-eight grandchildren, eighty-two great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren. Interment was in the Magee Cemetery at Lawrence Creek. Simmons, Percy, age 56. A resident of Bickham Street in Franklinton died December 17th at McGehee Clinic. A resident of the Oak Grove Community died December 19th at the Joe Allen Smith Memorial Hospital in Gretna.
