A native of the Franklinton area and a resident of Baton Rouge died January 1st at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Roy O. Miller, a daughter, three sons, a sister, two brothers, eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. LADNER, Eva McNeese, age 67. A resident of Route 8 Franklinton died December 30th in Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery at Sheridan. Survivors are her husband, Albert Ladner, two sons, a daughter, two brothers, one grandchild and one great grandchild. WOOD, Thomas J., age 84. A resident of Route 5 Franklinton died December 30th at Riverside Medical Center. He was a native of Franklinton. Interment was in the Magee Cemetery near Franklinton. He was preceded in death by a son, James Yates Wood. Survivors are his widow, Nettie D. Wood, a daughter, three brothers, a sister, nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 1-12-1983 MCKENZIE, Hilton, age 65. A resident of Stateline died January 4th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Crain Cemetery at Stateline. Survivors are his wife, __da Lee Kennedy McKenzie, two sons, two daughters, three brothers, three sisters and ten grandchildren. 1-19-1983 STEVENS, Spurgeon P. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pink R. Stevens. He died December 23rd. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. 1-26-1983 CROWE, Jimmy, age 36. A resident of Route 2 Mt. Hermon was killed on January 21st in an accidental shooting. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Morris Crowe, two sons, a daughter, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Crowe, a brother and a sister. Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. POWELL, Pearl Knight, age 75. A resident of Enon died January 17th at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. W. Powell. Survivors are a daughter, four sisters and a grandson. HICKMAN, Etta R., age 79. A resident of 13th Avenue Franklinton died January 22nd at the Washington-St. Tammany Charity Hospital. Interment was in Tylertown. Survivors are a daughter, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 2-2-1983 SHERIDAN, Marvin Ralph, age 36. A resident of Bogue Chitto Heights died January 26th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Sheridan Cemetery at Oak Grove. He is survived by his wife, Wanzie Schilling Sheridan, three daughters, two sons and a brother. GARDNER, Miss Emma, age 88. She died January 28th at her resident on Route 4 Franklinton. Interment was in the Sharp Cemetery. Survivors are two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. STAFFORD, Ella Warren Pigott, age 88. A resident of Enon died January 29th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Stafford. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. MULINA, Lester, age 69. A resident of Roseland died January 28th at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. Interment was in the Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Aline Bennett Mulina, a daughter, two sons, a brother, a sister, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. CROWE, Stephanie, age 15. A native and resident of Franklinton died January 28th at Roswell Park Institute in Rochester, New York. Interment was in the Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Waylon Crowe, a brother, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Crowe and Mr. and Mrs. Losa Varnado, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. CREEL, Margaret Sharp, age 82. She died January 29th at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was a resident of Franklinton and lived on Bene Street. Survivors are three brothers, a sister and numerous nieces and nephews. 2-9-1983 WILLIAMS, Theodore “Ted”, age 80. He went missing on January 11th near the Bush-Folsom Road. His body was found last week after nearly one month. BOND, Stella Corkern, age 82. A resident of Stoney Point died February 4th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Canaan Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Rainey. Survivors are three daughters, two sons, four sisters, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. BAHM, Eva, age 75. A resident of Husser and a native of Mt. Hermon died February 1st at the Seventh Ward General Hospital in Hammond. Interment was in the New Sharon Cemetery in Amite. Survivors are one son, two brothers, a sister, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. DUFRENE, Calvin J., age 39. A resident of Bogue Chitto Heights died February 7th in an automobile accident near Folsom. He was a native of Marrero and a resident of Franklinton. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Barbara Melancon Dufrene, a son, two sisters, his parents, Mertile and Eva Dufrene, two brothers and a sister. 2-16-1983 BICKHAM, Leazar, Jr., age 73. A resident of Franklinton died February 10th at the St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. Interment was in the Hayes United Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Celia Bickham, three sons, four daughters, a brother, two sisters, twenty-three grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. SEAL, Homer, age 62. A resident of the Stateline Community died February 8th at Riverside Medical Center. He was a World War II veteran. Interment was in the Crain Cemetery near Stateline. Survivors are his wife, Doris Tynes Seal, a daughter, a son, two sisters and five grandchildren. TAYLOR, Norma, age 63. A resident of T. W. Barker Drive in Franklinton died February 9th at Lallie Kemp Hospital in Independence. Interment was in the Magee Cemetery. Survivors are five daughters, four sons, three sisters, a brother, nineteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. SANDIFER, Florence Sumrall, age 92. A resident of Greenlaw Avenue died February 9th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Nobles Cemetery. Survivors are two sons, four daughters, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. SAMUELSON, Willie Mae Bahm, age 77. She was a native of Franklinton and resident of Minneapolis, Minnesota died February 10th. She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Frank Bahm, Belle Armstrong, Grace Magee, Maurice Bahm, Edith Haynel, Donald Bahm and Doyle Bahm. Survivors are her husband, Samuel Samuelson, a daughter and other relatives. DOUGLAS, Donald T. A resident of Gulfport, Mississippi and formerly of Franklinton died February 10th at his residence. He was a veteran of World War II. Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Hugh (Lillian) Douglas, a sister, three brothers and several nieces and nephews. DUFRENE, Calvin J., age 39. A resident of Bogue Chitto Heights died February 7th in an automobile accident near Folsom. He was a native of Marrero and a resident of Franklinton. A resident of William Street Franklinton died in an auto accident on Old Columbia Road Saturday morning. MCCLAIN, Stanley, Jr., age 19. A resident of 19th Avenue Franklinton died in an auto accident on Old Columbia Road Saturday morning. 2-24-1983 GOINGS, Nannie Sylvest . A resident of Bogalusa and former resident of Mt. Hermon died February 14th at the Bogalusa Community Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Goings, and a son, H. A. Goings. Survivors are a brother, a daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, two grandsons, eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. DUNCAN, Sally Gertrude Rogers. She was a resident of Thomas and died February 19th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Nobles Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Duncan. Survivors are two sons, two daughters, fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. SAUCIER, Ollie H. A resident of Main Street Bogalusa died February 14th at Riverside Medical Center. Survivors are her husband, Tom Saucier, two sons, two daughters, three sisters, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. ALFORD, Audel Ray. He was a native of Mt. Hermon and a resident of Jefferson Street in Bogalusa. Survivors are his widow, Revia H. Alford, a son, two sisters, two sisters-in-law and grandchildren. Interment was in the Hillview Memorial Gardens. 3-2-1983 RICHARDSON, Harry Hansbrough “Speed”, age 78. He died Friday at Bogalusa Community Medical Center, and was a former Louisiana state senator. Entombment was in the Ponemah Cemetery Sanctuary of Peace Mausoleum. Survivors are his wife, Willie Mae Caldwell Richardson, a daughter, and two grandsons. CARTER, Hassie Lee, age 80. A resident of Heritage Manor in Franklinton and a former resident of Kentwood, died February 21st at Riverside Medical Center. Survivors are two daughters, two sons, twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. PHILLIPS, Ed, age 72. A native of Franklinton and former resident of California died February 22nd at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Nobles Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Victoria H. Phillips, 2 sons, a daughter and 3 sisters. MANNING, Robert D. A resident of Franklinton died Tuesday in the Washington-St. Tammany Hospital in Bogalusa. Interment was in St. James Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Nezzie Thompson Manning, 4 daughters, 5 sons, 7 sisters, a brother and 15 grandchildren. O’BRYANT, J. D., age 78. A resident of Rt. 4 Tylertown died February 21st at the Walthall County Hospital in Tylertown. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Ida O’Bryant, a son, a granddaughter and a sister. JAMES, Ezra E. He died February 25th at Riverside Medical Center. He was a resident of Franklinton. Interment was in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Survivors are three daughters, a brother, four sisters, thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. 3-9-1983 KENNEDY, Essie Fortenberry, age 88. A resident of the Stateline Community died March 3rd at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the H. J. Kennedy Family Cemetery at Stateline. Survivors are six sons, three daughters, three brothers, twenty-two grandchildren and twenty- nine great grandchildren. WARREN, Vergie Lee, age 56. A resident of Rt. 6 Franklinton died March 3rd at New Orleans Charity Hospital. Interment was in the Hayes Creek Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Leroy Warren, Sr., five sons, five daughters, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Bickham, 8 sisters, two brothers and seventeen grandchildren. JONES, Gertrude, age 74. A resident of Crain’s Creek community died March 5th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in Crain’s Creek Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Jones and a son, Eldridge Jones. Survivors are five sons, eight daughters, four brothers, two sisters, fifty-six grandchildren, sixty-eight great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. BRUMFIELD, Pearlie Mae Moore, age 60. She was a resident of T. W. Barker Drive and died February 28th at Riverside Medical Center. Interment was in the Sweet Home Cemetery. A resident of the Alpine Nursing Home in Ruston, LA died February 27th at Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston. Interment was in Walnut Creek Cemetery. Survivors are four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. WESTMORELAND, Rozanne Stafford. A resident of Enon died March 5th at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Interment was in the Enon Cemetery. Interment was in the Bogue Chitto Baptist Church Cemetery. GENCO, Charles Sam, age 61. He died April 12th upon arrival at Highland Park Hospital in Covington. He was a veteran of World War II in the U. S. Navy. Survivors are his wife, Lena Mae Saltaformaggio and four sons, his mother, Pauline Misita Genco, three sisters and a brother. Interment was in the Ponemah Cemetery. MOODY, Viola Baham, age 71. She is a native of Franklinton and died April 9th at Bogalusa Community Medical Center. Interment was in the Ponemah Cemetery. A resident of Thomas died April 22nd at Walthall County Hospital in Tylertown, MS. Survivors are his wife, Angel Laura Sorrell Singley, a daughter, his mother, Mrs. Lennie Duncan Warren, foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Latimore Thomas, three sisters, a foster sister and four brothers. Interment was in the Thomas Cemetery at Thomas. STEWART, Florence Green, age 68. She died April 25th at Riverside Medical Center. He died June 28th in the Bogue Chitto River. DEDON, Grover C., age 47. A resident of Springhill died June 29th at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. He died December 18th at his residence on Ave. E in Bogalusa. He was a former resident of Franklinton. Survivors are his wife, Lacy Crowe, two foster daughters, two stepdaughters, a sister, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Interment was in the Ponemah Cemetery. AMACKER, Myrtis, age 73. A resident of Hwy. 436, Franklinton died December 21st at Riverside Medical Center. Survivors are his wife, Hazel Wallace Amacker, a sister, a brother, a stepbrother and nieces and nephews. Interment was in Sweet Home Cemetery in Franklinton. DYSON, Roy Louis, Sr. A resident of 17th Ave., Franklinton died December 20th in Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans. He was 48 years of age. Survivors are his wife, Alexzine B. Dyson, five daughters, two sons, a sister and a grandson. Interment was in the Sweet Home Cemetery. SULLIVAN, James Liley, age 73. A resident of Rt. 7 Franklinton died December 20th at Riverside Medical Center. Survivors are three daughters, two sisters, sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery. PORTER, J. S. “Jess”, age 91. A resident of Rt. 2 Mt. Hermon died December 23rd at Riverside Medical Center. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors are a stepdaughter, three sisters, three brothers and two grandchildren. Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. LUPER, Willie “Bud”, age 60. A resident of Rt. 9 Franklinton died December 20th at Riverside Medical Center. Survivors are his wife, Edna Bennett Luper, three stepsons, two stepdaughters, a brother, three sisters, seventeen step-grandchildren and a number of step-great- grandchildren. Interment in the Poplar Head Cemetery. ERWIN, Ethel O., age 89. She died December 19th at Bogalusa Community Medical Center. She was been a resident of Rest Haven Nursing Home. Survivors are her husband of 73 years, James A. Erwin, three daughters, twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Scott Erwin and the late Lindsley Erwin. Interment was in the Nobles Cemetery.
