She was a member of the Clifton Baptist Church and the widow of H. Randolph Martens. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Jean Martens; her parents John and Ella Knight Fussell; brothers and sisters, Ina Fussell Perry, Alcee Fussell, Edith Fussell McCain, Otis Fussell, Arnold Fussell, Carl Fussell, Denman Fussell, Inez Fussell Crowe, Emile Fussell, Carrie Fussell Ginn, Lester Fussell and Recee Fussell. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Wednesday until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel. Burial followed in the Ellis Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Troy Ginn, Roy McCain, Jr., J.M. Burch, Mt. Hermon Donnie J. Burch, 73 a resident of Mt. Hermon, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at his residence. He was retired from the LA Dept of Highways and also a retired bus driver for the Mt. Hermon School. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Sue Schilling Burch of Mt. Hermon, three sons and daughters-in-law, Robin and Sue Miller Burch, Rocky and Carrie Burch and Sherman Burch, all of Mt. Hermon; two grandchildren, Kevin and Erica Burch; and a brother, Dorman Burch of Franklinton. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev R. C. Branch and Dr. Joe Baugh officiating. Pallbearers included Kevin Burch, Chuck Wilkes, Church Freeland, Mike Lewis, Relton Sumrall and Harold Smith. Burial was in the Mt. Statham, 71, a resident of the Bolivar Community, died at 5:20 a.m. Friday at his residence. He was a retired tractor mechanic with Hood Tractor in Amite and a member of Sunnyhill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Cree Statham of Bolivar; two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Dale McIntyre and Gail and Leonard Hartman, all of Bolivar; a son, Dale Statham; three grandchildren Mikey McIntyre Statham and Donovan Harman, all of Bolivar; and a sister, Dorothy Hodges of Bolivar. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday and after 11 a.m. Sunday. A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Ray Schilling and Rev. Otho Schilling officiating. Active pallbearers were members of the Mt. Hermon Hunting Club. Honorary pallbearers were Wilbur Creel and nephews Hugh Magee, John Hodges, Rodney Hodges and Kenneth Hodges. Interment was in the Statham Cemetery at Mt. Hermon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Washington Parish Era-Leader, Franklinton, LA 11-20-2002 Elsie Marie Nobles Jenkins, Franklinton Elsie Marie Nobles Jenkins, 61, a resident of Franklinton died at 9:20 a.m. Thursday at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. She was a member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, James Arnold Jenkins of Franklinton, a son and daughter-in-law, James Kelson and Junie Jenkins of Mt. Hermon, two daughters and sons-in-law, Laquetta and David Passman and Lauretta and Raymond Bennett, all of Franklinton; her mother, Hilda Sorrell of Pine; a sister and brother-in- law, Martha Lynn and Bobby Darnell of Grove, TX; a sister-in-law, Nelda Nobles of Franklinton; a grandson, Mitchell Jenkins; two step-grandsons, Nicholas and Cody Jones and five other step-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Artis Nobles; a step-father, Virgil Sorrell, brother, E.A. Nobles; and father and mother-in-law, Wilbur and Lora Mae Jenkins. She is survived by a daughter, Delores Williams of Kentwood; two sons, Michael Williams of Hammond and Glen Williams Jr. of Kentwood; two grandchildren, Michael Dykes and Torianna Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was Friday at the Crain and Sons Funeral Home from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. at Union Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Fred Stalworth officiating. Hermon Amie Commodore, 94, a resident of Mt. Hermon, died Sunday, Nov. 10th at the Medical Center of Louisiana in New Orleans. She was a member of new Bethel UMC. She is survived by a son, Curtis Commodore, Jr. of Mt. Hermon; seven daughters, Earnestine Webb of Tylertown, MS, Eugene Commodore of Kentwood, Lucille Bridges of New Orleans, Nurcile Smith of New Orleans, Amie Lea Buchanan of Amite, Rose Magee of New Orleans, Curtis Briggs of Mt. Hermon; two sisters, May Rosie Quinn and Beulah Carr, both of Tylertown; three brothers, Ollie Jackson of New Orleans, Walter Jackson of Tylertown and Willie B. Jackson of Chicago, IL; 64 grandchildren; 153 great-grandchildren; and 95 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Mary Quinn Jackson; her husband, Curtis Commodore; two sons, Wilson Commodore and Johnny Commodore; six brothers; and 3 sisters. Tyson, Kokomo, MS S.C. Tyson, 69, a resident of Kokomo, MS died Saturday, Nov. 9th at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. He was a member of New Damascus MBC. He is survived by his mother, Alice Mae Goff of Picayune, MS; his wife, Pauline Smith Tyson of Kokomo; a former wife, Fannie M. Williams Tyson of Franklinton; four sons, S.L. (Wannette) Tyson of Franklinton, Q.C. Tyson of Kokomo, Dale (Ebony) Tyson of Tylertown, Lucious Ratliff of Picayune; four daughters, Maxie (Leon James of Franklinton, Shirley (Tayre) Williams of Franklinton, Gale (Terry) Ducre of Kokomo and Janette Tyson of Kokomo; 2 brothers, H.L (Emogene) Tyson of New Orleans and R.C. Tyson of New Orleans; 5 step-children, RC. Ratliff of New Orleans, Mary Magee of Tylertown, Maggie Collins of Kokomo, Patsy Badon of Kokomo and Paulette Ratliff of Kokomo; 10 grandchildren; 20 step-grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation was at the Washington Funeral Home on Friday from 12-5 p.m. and then at New Damascus MBC from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 16th at 3 p.m. at the church with Elder Love Magee officiating. Interment was in the New Damascus MBC cemetery in Kokomo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Washington Parish Era-Leader, Franklinton, LA 11-20-2002 Laureen Aucoin, Lakeland, LA Laureen Aucoin, a native of Franklinton and a resident of Lakeland, LA, died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Baton rouge General Medical Center. She was born September 25, 1963 and was 39 years old. She is survived by her parents, Ludovic and Elouise Passman Aucoin of Lakeland, a sister Alecica Aucoin Matte and brother-in-law Doug Mattle of Lakeland; two nephews, Alex and Tyler Matte of Lakeland; two godchildren, Alex Matte and Chancey O'Brain, her grandmother, Relia J. Passman of Franklinton. Also survived by aunts, Sara P. Stogner of Omaha, Arkansas, Lucille P. Nicholes and husband, Bill Nicholes of Franklinton; Louise P. Pourciau, and husband Dale Pourciau of Livonia; Wilda Rhoden of Franklinton; Barbara A. Latham and husband Rodney of Morganza; Gayle A. Ryan and husband Hank. Joyce A. York and Sharon Aucoin, all of Lakeland and uncle William Passman of Franklinton. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparent, Ansil Passman of Franklinton and paternal grandparents, Etienne and Irene B. Aucoin of Lakeland and an uncle Wendell Passman of Franklinton. Laureen was a 1981 graduate of Catholic High School of Pointe Coupee, LA. She was employed at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge. Laureen had battled with lupus for 10 years and was kidney transplant recipient for six years. The donor was her aunt, Lucille Nichols. Visiting was at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Hall in Lakeland from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Wednesday with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m. There was visiting also on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time for the service at 10:00 a.m. in the church. The service was conducted by the Reverend Greg Daigle with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Rhett Pourciau, Chance Rhoden, Stephen Burris, Zeb York, Dan O'Callahan and Rodney Latham. Honorary pallbearer was Tim Passman. Niland's Funeral Home in New Roads, LA, was in charge of arrangements.
