He is survived by his wife, Thelma Smith of Franklinton; one son and daughter-in-law, T.J. and Jessie Smith of Franklinton; two daughters, D.D. Smith and Sherry S. Williams both of Franklinton; two brothers, A.J. Smith of Tulsa, OK and Richard Norris of Slidell; four sisters, Diane Kirwain of Ann Arbor, Michagan, Ella Rose Davis of Natchez, MS, Clara Jo Dykes, and Leona Lynn Smith both of Bogalusa; eleven grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Shannon Paul Smith and two granddaughters, Jessamy Smith and Krystal Daughtery. Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Harold Gaddy officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were Robert B. Stogner, Boris J. Stogner, Robert Daughtery, Frank Daughtery, Charles Merritt, and Roy Sharp. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Idena Dyson Idena Dyson, 89, died Sunday, November 12, 2000 at Riverside Medical Center. She was a resident of Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She was a former resident of Easter Hill in Franklinton. She is survived by one sister, Gladys Brumfield of Detroit, Michigan; three grandchildren, Lawrence B. Dyson, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri, Keivin L. Dyson and Margaret L. Dyson of Kentwood, Louisiana; four great-grandchildren; caretakers, Rev. Raymond (Charlean) Dyson and Mrs. JoAnn Maxwell of Franklinton, Louisiana, a daughter-in-law, Hazel M. Dyson of Kentwood, Louisiana, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held Thursday, November 16, 2000 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a family hour from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services were held Friday, November 17, 2000 at 1 p.m. at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness with Elder Washington E. Drake officiating. Burial followed in Sweet Home Cemetery.
