She was a member of the Franklinton First Baptist Church and the widow of William Millard Bickham. She is survived by three children, Billy Louis and Ann Bickham of Shreveport, LA; Frances and Jesse Montegudo of Zachary and Julia and Charles LeBlanc of Denham Springs, L. Also survived by six grandchildren, Kim McClelland, William Bradley Bickham, Kent Payne, Clay Payne, Kathryn Bickham and Isaac LeBlanc. Also, great- grandchildren, Patrick, Patricia and Loren McClelland, Jordan Bickham, Megan and William Payne and Harrison Bickham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Crain and Frances Jane Pierce Crain and six sisters and thirteen brothers. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home after 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time for the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Denny Brumfield and the Rev. Fredrick Brumfield officiated. Pallbearers were Shelby Martin, Lavon Crain, Richard McElveen, Jim Crain, John Larry Bickham and Jimmy McElveen. Burial was in the Ellis Cemetery in Franklinton. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to C.O.T.A. for Loren McClelland, c/o Hibernia National Bank, 33 Travis St, Shreveport, LA. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JoAnn Spears, Franklinton JoAnn Spears, age 28, and a resident of Franklinton died at 5:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, at the Riverside Medical Center. She was a member of the Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church and attended the Washington Parish Activity Center. She is survived by her mother, Ann Lepine Spears of Franklinton; five brothers and spouses, Glen and Brenda Spears, Lynn and Debbie Spears, Bennie Spears, Jr., all of Franklinton; Larry and Ronni Pizani of Westwego, Charles and Becky Pizani of San Antonio, TX. Also survived by four sisters, Carolyn Ann Spears, Natalie Pizani and Melissa Spears, all of Franklinton; her maternal grandmother, Effie Lepine of Barataria, LA, and numerous aunts uncles, cousins and dear friends from the Washington Parish Activity Center. She was preceded in death by her father, Bennie spears, grandparents, Arthur Lepine, Shelton and Freddie “Doll” Spears and a cousin, Wendy Perrin. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. Monday. A funeral service was conducted in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Monday with Elders Willie J. Passman, Willie F. Rogers, Glynn Erwin, Clyde Cooper, Richard Magee and the Rev. Leon Hickman officiating. Pallbearers were Joey Spears, Chad Spears, Cody Spears, Bennie Spears, Larry Pizani and Eddie Barber. Burial was in the Poplarhead Church Cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mamie Magee Burch, Franklinton Mamie Magee Burch, age 90, and a resident of Franklinton, died at Riverside Medical Center on Sunday, November 19, at 4:30 p.m. She was a member of Fisher Methodist church, a retired registered nurse and the widow of James Alton Burch. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Evelyn Magee of Long Beach, MS, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was on Saturday, November 25 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bernard Magee and the Rev. Lyndle Bullard officiating. Pallbearers were Robert Magee, Winston Fussell, Haley Carter, Larry Breland, Alan Burris and Ralph Kern. Burial was in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dottie Cooper Gerald, Greenwell Springs Dottie Cooper Gerald, age 64, and a longtime resident of Greenwell Springs, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, November 16 at the resident of her sister. She was a member of Indian Mound Baptist Church and the widow of Clifford Gerald. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Tammy Gerald of Walker, LA; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen G. and Ricky Pomeroy of Denham Spring;one brother, Billy Ray Cooper of Brookhaven, MS three sisters, Maxie Gerald, Lucy Jane Stogner and Margie Sonier, all of Pine, LA. Also survived by six grandchildren, Cody Gerald, Dylan Gerald, Matthew Ensminger, Brandon Ashford, Jason Ashford and Alisha Pomeroy. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Cooper. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Clyde Cooper officiated. Pallbearers were Kendall Stogner, Richard Stogner, Kendall Gerald, Darrell Gerald, Lavell Gerald and Randal Watts. Burial was in the Old Gerald Cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Louis R. Kuhn, Franklinton Louis R. Kuhn of Franklinton died at his home Wednesday, November 8, 2000, with his wife of 63 years, Maxine Kuhn, and other family members in his presence. A lifelong resident of Washington Parish, Mr. Kuhn worked as a youth for the Great Southern Lumber Company of Bogalusa. For 43 years he was the manager of Gold Seal Creamery of Franklinton. He was well known throughout the dairy business during the years when Franklinton was referred to as The Center of the Dairy Industry. In later years, he was employed with the first Baptist Church of Franklinton and Crain Funeral Home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. Mr. Kuhn placed a great emphasis during his lifetime on the educational pursuits of his children. He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, his keen sense of humor and the pleasure he derived from fellowship with his numerous friends and relatives. Mr. Kuhn is survived by his wife, Maxine George Kuhn, his daughter, Ma Louise Kuhn Booty and son-in-law, Melvin Farnell Booty; his son, G. Wayne Kuhn, and daughter-in-law, Sarah Kennedy Kuhn, all of Franklinton; and his son, L. Robert Kuhn, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Barbara Breeden Kuhn, of Baton Rouge; a sister, Grace Kuhn Jones; a brother, Carson Odom. In addition, he is survived by four grandchildren: Leslie Catherine Kuhn, Christopher Wayne Kuhn, Laura Rebecca Kuhn, and Lisa Michelle Kuhn, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and a special caregiver, Tammy Carlisle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kate Givens Kuhn Odom and Valley Kuhn; three brothers, Eton Kuhn, Barney Kuhn, Waldo Odom; and a sister, Myrtis Kuhn Carrier. Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Sunday after 10:00 a.m. The funeral service was held at First Baptist Church in Franklinton at 2:30 p.m. on November 12, with the Rev. Karl Tingle, Dr. Jerry Barlow, and the Rev. Ben Morgan officiating. Pallbearers were Leon Graham, Donnie Kuhn, Thomas Kuhn, Coy Jones, Jimmy Kuhn and John Vernon Narretto. Honorary Pallbearers were Dr. Luis Alvarado, R.J. Creel, Eric Fussell, Thurman Knight, Leland Marler, Gene Rester, Bill Spencer, Keith Waddell, Rudy Causey, Clyde Fussell, John Harris, Larry Magee, Ray Pettit, Willie J. Spears, Q.D. Turnage and Wilton Warner. Interment followed at the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogalusa with the Rev. John Gilbert conducting graveside rites.
