He is survived by hiswife, Emma Jean Magee of Franklinton; a daughter, Sharon Lynett Pooler of Franklinton; three sons, Gene Lionel Magee and Paul Earl Magee of Franklinton, and Johnny Donell Magee of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchldren; five sisters, Mattie Magee, LillianBickham, Mildred Magee, Freddie Taylor and Iona “Red” Queen all of New Orleans; and two brothers, Johnny B. Magee and Roosevelt Magee of new Orleans. Visitation was held from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, December 5 with family hour from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bethel Church of Christ Holiness (U.S.A.) With Rev Carlis Carldwell. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Era-Leader, Franklinton, Louisiana 12-11-2002 Early Thomas, Franklinton Early Thomas, 76, of Franklinton died November 30 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. He was a member of Greater Hayes Creek MBC. He is survived by a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milas and Rosetta Bickham Thomas. Visitation was at Washington Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 4th from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services were held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Greater Hayes MBC in Warnerton with Rev. Jerome Warren officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Era-Leader, Franklinton, Louisiana 12-11-2002 Dalton Thomas, Pine Dalton Thomas, 63, a resident of the Pine Community, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, December 4th at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. He was a brick mason and along with his wife operated Thomas Community Grocery at Stateline. He was a U.S., Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Joyce O’Berry Bookout Thomas of Pine; three sons, Gary Allen Thomas of Franklinton, James Dalton Thomas and Brent Dalton Thomas, both of Pine; a daughter, Leminda McGraph of Covington; a step-daughter, Cyndi Bookout of New Orleans; nine grandchildren, Ashley Thomas, Robert Thomas, Lauren Thomas, Kateland Thomas, Tyler Breland, Staci Breland, Paige McGraph, Kali McGraph, and Caitlin McGraph; three brothers, J.M., Thomas and Mac Thomas, both of Pine, and Berkley Thomas of Bogalusa; five sisters, Albert Kennedy of Pearl River, Margaine Tynes of Covington, Lucille Thomas and Rutha Mae Thomas, both of Pine, and Roselee Hiney of Franklinton He was preceded in death by his parents, Eld McCauley “Buck” and Dorether Cooper Thomas; and brothers and sisters, Lizzie Hines, Silas Thomas, Lloyd Thomas, Cullie Thomas, Willie Thomas, Paul Thomas, Seamon Thomas and Marcus Thomas. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 6th in the Funeral home chapel with Eld Clyde Cooper and Eld. Ben Whatley officiating. Pallbearers were Jim O’Berry, Chad Gerald, Laney Barber, Brandon Applewhite, Dale Barber and Dale Magee. Interment was in the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
