Hermon Miss Marlee Brooke Harrison, 7, a resident of Mt. Hermon died on December 3, 2000 at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans. She is survived by her parents, Eld. Mark and Dana Gill Harrison of Mt. Hermon; two brothers, Andrew Gill Harrison and Luke Elliott Harrison both of Mt. Hermon; her grandparents, Paul and Doris Harrison of Amite and Daniel and Mary Lou Gill of Mt. Hermon; and her great-grandparents, Voncil McLaughlin of Ponchatoula and Lendorse Terrell of Pine. Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home Monda, December 4 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Duane Ball, Eld. Don Jacobs, Eld. Joe Lott, Eld. Clyde Cooper, and Eld. Brent King officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were Eld. Terry Robertson, Eld. William Pierce, Eld. Lerand Hunt, Glynn Haley, Todd McDonald, and Donald Painter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------  Lillie Stevens Jones, Franklinton Mrs. Lillie Stevens Jones, 85, a native and longtime resident of Franklinton and a current resident of Birmingham, AL, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklinton. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles M. and Kathy Robbins Jones of Birmingham, AL; one daughter, Paula Jones Lott of Slidell; two grandchildren, Steven M. Jones of Atlanta, GA and Robin Jones Loftin of Athens, GA; one brother, Hayward E. Stevens of Port Arthur, TX; four sisters, Alune Stevens Winfrey of Franklinton, Rubye Stevens Walters of AR, Gladys Stevens Estess of Tylertown, MS and Jo Stevens Tibbetts of Montgomery, TX. She was preceded in death by her first husband Charlie M. Jones and her second husband Carl Waltman, parents Pinkney R. and Evie Passman Stevens; four brothers, J.Y. Stevens, Spurgeon P. Stevens, Geroge W. Stevens, and Joel Y. Stevens; and three sisters, Caroah Stevens Walters, Artie Stevens Cook and Ella Stevens Martin. Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time for funeral services at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. John Gilbert Officiating. Burial followed in the Ellis Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were Steve Jones, Michael Loftin, Bob Walters, Leroy Toney, William Robbins, and Jeffery Walters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ James Kemp 'J.K.' Smith, Natchez, MS James Kemp "J.K." Smith, 86, a resident of Natchez, MS, died on December 9, 2000 at Natchez Regional Hospital.  He was a native of Franklinton, the son of the late Calvin Alonzo and Maggie Kemp Smith. He was a foreman for International Paper from which he retired after 37 years.  He was an army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Carrie M. SMith of Natchez; two sons, James Michael Smith and wife Betsy of Arkadelphia, AR and Kenneth Wayne Smith and wife Karen Jo of Natchez.  Also survived by two granddaughters, Stacee Lynn Smith of Hot Springs, AR, and Rachael Emily Smith of Arkadelphia and one grandson, Kemp Michael Smith of Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. Funeral services were on Monday, December 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Laird Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez.  The Reverend Bart Walker officiated. Pallbearers were Jerry Smith, Wade Smith, Bobby Smith, Bob White, J.T. Smith, Carol Pearson and Curtis King.  Honorary pallbearers were members of the Adult 6 Sunday School Class of Parkway Baptist Church. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez. ------------------------------------------------------------------------  Maurice 'Bud' Thomas Franklinton Maurice "Bud" Thomas, age 84, and a resident of Franklinton, died at this residence on Friday, December 8, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. He was retired from the timber business and a member of the Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Mae Thomas of Franklinton; two sons, Melvin Thomas of Magnolia, MS, and Michael M. Thomas of Franklinton; two daughters, Roxie Faye Rushing of Tylertown and Linda Gay Perry of Franklinton. Also survived by stepchildren, Willie F. Cooper of Pineville, LA, Marcell Graves, Elder Clyde Cooper and Vondell Pierce, all of Franklinton and one sister, Wilkie Magee, also of Franklinton.  Also, 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Taylor Thomas and parents, Noah and Roxie thomas and a brother, Alphus Thomas. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 5 PM until 10 PM Sunday and after 8 AM Monday until time for the funeral held at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel.  Elder Don Jacobs and Elder Richard Magee officiated. Active Pallbearers were David Perry, Jon Michael thomas, Keith Thomas, Jimmy Dale Passman, Clay Cooper and Chuck Graves. Honorary pallbearers included Benton Taylor, J.M. Thomas, Athan Brumfield, Robert Stewart, Jimmy Magee, Sammy Ingram, Ray Thomas and Richard Passman. Burial was in the Thomas Cemetery in Thomas.
