He died December 12, 2002 in a single car accident in Sun, LA. Martin grew up in New Orleans for the major part of his life. He also lived in Melburn, FL, for several years and has been a resident of Franklinton for the past 18 months. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Hazel Regina Smith Coggeshall. He is survived by his father, Charles Coggeshall, a brother, Douglas Coggeshall, both of Florida, and one child, Martin Shannon Coggeshall of Washington Parish and one grandson, Nathan Bourge. Also survived by his bride-to-be, Joyce Rayborn Unsworth and two step-children, Molly and Tyler Unsworth. Mr. Coggeshall was a professional painter and owned his own business. HE was buried at Springhill Cemetery in Franklinton. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Era-Leader, Franklinton, LA 12-25-2002 Ruth Vernon, Franklinton Ruth Vernon, 86, a resident of Franklinton died Thursday, December 12 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. She is survived by a son, Lionell Vernon of Franklinton; a sister, Annie Kate Thompson of Franklinton, LA six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation was Friday, December 20 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. with family hour from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 21 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Crain and Sons Funeral Home with Elder Johnnie Robinson officiating. Interment was in the Sweet Home Cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Era-Leader, Franklinton, LA 12-25-2002 Evelyn Magee Stephens, Franklinton Evelyn Magee Stephens, 82, a resident of Franklinton, died Friday, December 13 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. She is survived by a daughter, Ruby (Stanley) Wilson of Franklinton; a son, Nelson (Joyce) Magee of New York; three step-daughters, Gail Jones and Ann Prescott of Rochester, New York, and Johnnie Mae Jones of Ocala, Florida; two step-sons Harold Jones of Tampa, Florida and Cornell Conyers of Rochester, New York; a sister, Willie Dean Andrew of New Orleans, LA; a brother, Bernstein (Bunch) Magee of New Orleans; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ada Burton of Franklinton, and a host of nieces nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation was Wednesday, December 18 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 19 at 12 noon at Bethel church of Christ Holiness (U.S.A.) with the Rev. Carlos Caldwell officiating. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery.
